❤️ On this day, we wear red to raise awareness for women's cardiovascular disease and how it can look so different from what we're taught in a woman.

❤️ Wear Red Day is an awareness day close to my heart because my own mom is lucky to be alive because she recognized symptoms that most of us would have brushed off as "anxiety" or "women's troubles." In actuality, she was experiencing the early warning signs of what could have been a catastrophic heart attack had she not gotten herself to the hospital and advocated for herself. She's now nearly 8 years out from open heart surgery and doing well, but it could have been so much worse.

❤️ So today, be like Minnie Mouse and wear your best red and spread the word in promotion of women's cardiovascular health.
