Happy Italian Festival Weekend! The Fifth by Northwest neighborhood has a rich history of Italian Americans, as Italian immigrants largely were the first settlers of the neighborhood in the modern era in the early 20th century due to its proximity to quarries, the railroad and facing discrimination due to restrictive deed convents and redlining in other municipalities.

The 5th By Northwest Neighborhood is home to many businesses started by Italians-Americans that are still operating in our neighborhood today, including Panzera’s Pizza, John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, Gentile’s Wine Sellers and the Columbus Italian Club.
