Join us at 1100 Oak Street in Downtown Conway on September 6th for our next Conway Art Walk. This month's theme is "UPCYCLED," and will be all about creating art using upcycled materials!♻️🎨

Visit Creative Cove on Chestnut St to create some upcycled art of your own or contribute to our large-scale collaborative upcycled artwork.

Be sure to stop by The Studio Downtown so you can view our gallery of upcycled art by local artists.

As always, you can take a stroll down Oak Street to see our local artist booths, watch live music performances by local musicians, and grab a bite to eat at a food truck or local restaurant! 🎸✨

We're very excited to host Arkansas NICA Student Mountain Biking for TWO BIG EVENTS this fall!

An estimated 750+ youth riders and their families will be coming to ride the new Tech Park Trail August 25th and September 29th. Teams from around the state have already started visiting the course to gain an edge.

Eclipse weekend is here! Check out VisitConway.org and uca.edu/eclipse for a full list of events taking place this weekend!

It's the final countdown to the solar eclipse! Make sure you're at the UCA 2024 Eclipse Watch Party on Monday to take in the historical event here in Conway! We're happy to be partnering with the University of Central Arkansas and Visit Conway for this event!

The event will include free eclipse glasses, arts and crafts vendors, food concessionaires, yard games, NASA TV on the big screen, and the chance to talk to UCA scientists about the eclipse. Seating is available in the stadium, but you are also welcome to bring a blanket and hang out on the Stripes!

In 2024, Bike Friendly=Visitor Friendly.

Conway is OFFICIALLY the most bike friendly city in central Arkansas. Today we joined Bentonville (silver) and Fayetteville (gold) among the most bike friendly cities in the country recognized by League of American Bicyclists

We're still organizing, but this year Conway will host the three largest cycling events in its history bringing thousands of participants and spectators. Great job Conway cycling community!

Conway - The Capital of Youth Sports in Arkansas

Conway, Ark., has been a regional destination for youth sports for more than 10 years. Thanks to some incredible baseball and softball facilities, Conway hosts 40 percent more baseball than any other city in Arkansas. But baseball isn’t the only game in town. Mountain biking continues to pick up speed in Conway, thanks to routes at the Conway Tech Park and Cadron Settlement Park. The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) will host multiple events in Conway starting in 2024. If you are looking for indoor venues, Conway has two indoor facilities for hosting basketball and volleyball and has been the home of the Arkansas Homeschool Basketball State Tournament for five years. Currently, the city of Conway is in the construction phase of a large indoor swimming facility, with spectator seating and additional pickleball courts on site. If youth sports are your game, then Conway is your destination.

Congratulations to Eric E Morris for catching a $1,000 tagged bass in the "Cash In On Lake Conway" promotion from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Eric caught this bass--and many more--in the Adams Lake area of Lake Conway. There is still adequate depth to take advantage of a historic fishing opportunity.

No better day to than Illuminate!

UPDATE 11/24: If you've made your way downtown, you may have noticed the Ferris Wheel isn't in its normal spot next to the tree. Unfortunately, the Ferris Wheel is not operational and will not be repaired in time to be part of Illuminate this holiday season.

We have replaced it with two great attractions, the carousel and Super Slide, that will give you ample opportunities to create some new Illuminate memories with your family and loved ones, and kick off the Christmas season with the rest of Conway tomorrow evening!

We'll see you there!

Don't forget to check out all the downtown shops tomorrow as part of Small Business Saturday before coming to the tree lighting!

The first gate is open. The renovation of Lake Conway has started.

The Lake Conway renovation project starts today.

Without rainfall, the lake is expected to drop approx 6" per week. There is plenty of time left to fish and October crappie fishing should be busy! No slot and no limits on fish!

Today we start our journey toward the new Lake Conway. We will begin by opening one gate to slowly drain the lake as we prepare for a total renovation. To prevent flooding downstream and protect nearby greentree reservoirs, this single gate will be open at the dam for the foreseeable future. We estimate the water dropping about 6 inches per week if we receive no rain or inflow from feeder creeks. As trees downstream become dormant this winter, we will be able to open more gates (potentially as many as eight), which could drop the water level by more than 2 feet per week.

This process may seem slower than expected, but it’s not too early to consider pulling boats stationed at boathouses and docks out of the water to ensure they won't be stranded as the water level falls. Boat traffic will be able to continue but as the lake level declines, boating will become more hazardous. Please continue to wear your life jacket whenever you’re on a boat and be aware of stumps and obstructions under the water's surface while you continue to enjoy Lake Conway.
