**TRIP PROTECTION / TRAVEL INSURANCE:**
For each trip, WE ALWAY SAY PURCHASE TRIP PROTECTION--EVEN IF IT'S NOT FROM US. We do offer it on our website. It's on your registration form.
On each trip, there are a few people who run into some unforeseen problems and can't go. The situation gets complicated, because these people ask DDT to cover their trip--which we can't do. I know it's an extra expense, and you PROBABLY won't need it...but when/if you do, it can be a life-saver. It can prevent you from incurring huge charges for travel mishaps. It also saves you from other unforeseen situations, i.e. roommate cancels, sick family member, job incidents etc. So be smart--pay a little to save a lot.

**SHUTTLES/AIRFARE IN THE FUTURE:**
Nearly all vendors cover our shuttles with no problem. The only one who doesn't, (Gate 1) charges a lot. Example, on our last trip to Amsterdam, Belgium, France and UK, they charged $218pp R/T for their shuttle if you didn't purchase air from them. Taking an Uber with another DDT family member, it was $50pp R/T. So its a saving of $168! When I see these situations, I will always tell you what's a better option. We also incurred over $15,000 in late cancellations and people getting their own airfare after we booked them. So we won't be booking air anymore. Anyway, its usually more affordable to fly from your own city and meet in the host city, rather than paying for an additional flight and hotel to stay in New York--except for Egypt. We get a direct flight into Cairo from Egyptair from JFK. ON ALL OTHER TRIPS WE'LL ARRANGE TO MEET IN THE AIRPORT AND SHUTTLE TO THE HOTEL TOGETHER AS WE'VE BEEN DOING.

**HOME BASED TRAVEL AGENCY (HBTA) TRAINING:**
One of my proudest accomplishments is helping to start over 200 small businesses since we started DDT. Once a year we "open the books" to train people who want to start their own travel agency. It will be held virtually on 3 Saturdays in January (11, 18 and 25) via Zoom.

**DDT CUBA 2025:**

**DDT SPAIN & PORTUGAL--March 23-April 1, 2025**
As we continue our conquest of Europe, the next stop is Spain and Portugal. We’ll visit some of the most BEAUTIFUL cities in Europe (Lisbon, Seville, Zafra, Cordoba, Madrid and Barcelona). We’ll drink their delicious wine and dine in their stunning Cafes. I'm happy to announce that the trip is SOLD OUT. They even gave us an exemption to add another person--so we're taking 41 instead of the usual 40.
FLIGHTS: When you get your flights, please book a "Multi-City" flight. I couldn't find a direct flight going or coming. We fly into Lisbon, Portugal (LIS) and return from Barcelona, Spain (BCN) back to the States. I just booked mine this morning. I arrive in Lisbon at 8:55am on the next day (March 24). I depart Barcelona on April1 at 2:10pm. I was unable to get direct flights from Atlanta, but I have quick layovers in Boston going, and JFK returning.

**DDT BALI: May 24-31, 2025**
Join DDT as we explore the Exotic Country of BALI. You asked for it--and here it is! We were able to add a second Bus when we went over our SOLD-OUT number, we just saw the pictures from Kelly and Hasmin this past week as they celebrated Kelz' Birthday in Bali. It's going to be a wonderful trip and the food and atmosphere will be a once in-a-lifetime experience. The trip is super affordable, and you can now get on the second Bus. JUMP ON IT!

**DDT CUBA II: November 15-20, 2025**
GREAT NEWS! I'm happy to say that I was able to get the Cuba II trip on the agenda for next year! It should be a smaller group this time--not like the large DDT Group we took this year. We'll put the specs/agenda on the website this week for those who want to go. It's a FANTASTIC trip--and you'll be gorged with Lobster and Mojitos for the week. You'll be able to see all the classic architecture, see how Cuban ci**rs are made and ride in their classic cars. Let me know if you're interested. We have about 10-12 already, and expect a nice-sized group.

**DDT SUMMER MADNESS 2025**
We had an AMAZING time this Summer in Punta Cana. Our Theme Parties and ALL GREEN Foam Pool Party were Lit!!! I can't wait to do it again when we have our return to the Hard Rock. This is where we had our BEST DDT trip EVER! We started our payment plan really late this year because I didn't want to do another one. But people pleaded with us this past Summer to keep Summer Madness going--and we did.
We reduced the room count this year from 300 rooms to 200 rooms, so its going to be a more manageable trip. We also have our Sit-down Dinner in the contract and all of our parties. The last few rooms are going--New Jersey just jumped on. GET ON IT!

**2026 BUCKET LIST TRIPS:**
I'm putting out the tentative list for our 2026 Bucket List Trips. We want to keep focusing on taking our family to the most exotic locations, and experiencing them with the comfort of familiar faces. We wanted to get the list out early so you can "pick your place" and get on the lists. A few people are still trying to get on our SOLD OUT trips for 2025 (Spain & Portugal, Bali (we added a 2nd bus), Ghana and Egypt (we have slots left). We're proud to say that we have to keep a Waiting List for our Amazing Bucket List trips. We're looking at:
 Tanzania/Zanzibar.
 Bora Bora/Tahiti II (return)
 Sweden/Germany
 Italy/Amalfi Coast/Capri III (return),
 Australia/New Zealand
 MAYBE Summer Madness (If we get through 2025) We want to get it down to 300-400 people max.

**DDT SUMMER MADNESS: HARD ROCK 2025**
We're going to the Luxurious Hard Rock Resort in Playa Del Carmen. We have Swim Up Suites available for the first time. Its Top shelf drinks and gourmet dining. PLUS our Banging Entertainment! We still have a few rooms left and then we're nearly Sold Out!! Sorry, there are no concessions for Party packages and Time-shares. We have people coming from all over the Country: New York is in the House! Atlanta is in the House! North and South California are in the House! North and South Carolina are in the House! Boston is in the House! Delaware is in the House! But where is Chicago?? I'm waiting for the Chicago crew to jump on, and then we can shut it down! lol Lets Go!!

**OUR TRANSITION IS GOING SMOOTHLY**
I'm happy to say that the transition in management of DDT is going smoothly. The bank accounts have been turned over, and now Ying is the new Boss. She's getting her own staff together to work with the old DDT staff. Her new email is: [email protected]. This is a corporate email, so you won't have to worry about flooding her account. I'll still be getting the contracts for the trips and writing the Newsletters. But we all know I suck at administration. So we now can have competent administration to go with our wonderful trips. Its a WIN-WIN!

**DDT SUMMER MADNESS 17-HARD ROCK RESORT-PLAYA DEL CARMEN, JULY 12-17, 2025:**
You asked for another Summer Madness and we delivered. We'll return to the scene of the BEST DDT trip ever! I'll be adding the entertainment soon. It's going to be lifted and I can't wait! This will be the first one that I can party with you since the staff will be handling the administration of the trip. All the info is on the website. A lot of people beat me silly in Punta Cana this Summer about doing another Summer Madness--when I said we wasn't going to do it--so now let's get the deposits in and lock down these remaining rooms. I have to make another lump payment to the vendor next month. We should have all rooms filled by then.

**DDT SPAIN & PORTUGAL--MARCH 23-APRIL 1, 2025**
SOLD OUT I'm happy to say that our first trip of the new year is SOLD OUT. We have an active waiting list. We just put 3 people in who were waiting, and removed 3 people who only had an initial deposit. If you don't keep up with the layaway plan, you risk losing your slot and your deposit. Everyone should have $1400 in their account as of last month. This promises to be another GREAT Adventure through Europe. Our last few: ALL ITALY, GREECE and TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS have been remarkable!

**DDT BALI: MAY 24-31, 2025**
BALI WAS SOLD OUT We were way over the first Bus limit (40) and the vendor advised that we can now add a second Bus. We now have 22 new slots to fill a second Bus--or get one Large Bus for the overflow. This is a visit to one of the most EXOTIC locations on the Planet Earth. The price is right soooo jump on it. You'll really enjoy this with our DDT Family

**DDT GHANA--SEPTEMBER 1-10, 2025:**
DDT is going back to the Mother-land! OUR GHANA TRIP IS NEARLY SOLD OUT. This promises to be one of the most touching trips that we've done. We got the best price on the market and we have a large group going (nearly 50). We can shut it down with this number, but I know people have still been asking me to get on it. You can enjoy this one with your DDT Family. We had a few more join in last week. I anticipate that this will be the last newsletter that has openings listed.

**DDT EGYPT IV: OCTOBER 6-17, 2025:**
This is THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME!! Everyone who has taken this trip has come back changed. You will be overwhelmed when you see the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza in person. But thats not all, when you visit Luxor and Karnak and see the Great Temples and Monuments and visit the Valley of the Kings and see the hieroglyphics of Alexander the Great paying homage to the Egyptian Gods/Pharaoahs---who look like just like your Uncle James and Aunt Mary--it will erase all of the crap that Hollywood has showed you over the years. They were always trying to hide the GREATNESS of OUR Ancestors and co-opt them as their own. We can take up to 100 people on this trip, so we still have slots left. I ALWAYS SAY--THIS IS THE TRIP YOU SHOULD DO FIRST!

I'm still working on a final Cuba date. It looks like its going to be November, 2025. If you're interested, hit me up and I can get you on the list.

**BREAKING HALL OF FAME 4TH NOVEMBER 3, 2025**
I'll be hosting the 4th Annual Breaking Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, along with my partner Trixie and State Assemblyman Rev. Al Taylor. It'll be November 3rd from 6-10pm at the Denny Farrell State Park/Riverbank at 145th Street in Riverside Drive in Harlem. NY. We have BBoys and BGirls coming in from France, UK, Italy, Canada, Germany and Hungary to get inducted into the Breaking Hall of Fame. There will be music and live performance by the Dynamic Kids Breaking League. Come and meet the BEST Breakers in the World! Its FREE and we have stadium seating so all are invited!

We were able to secure their new Swim-Up Suites (we have 40). Keep in mind that they only have King beds. We'll be adding the new itinerary, Nightly Theme parties and entertainment very soon (with the DJs/Dance Instructors). Big Trev from the Black Diamond Crew has volunteered to take the games to another level--so get ready.

**TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS (TEE) GRPS 1 AND 2**
DDT TEE Group 1 finished last week, and DDT TEE Group 2 finished today. I said they were going to be 2 REMARKABLE trips--but I was wrong--they were EFFIN AMAZING!!
We took 80 people and toured Amsterdam taking a river cruise and ate their Hot Chocolate cookies with its melted white chocolate centers. We also visited the Red Light District that night. We then went to Brussels and ate their delicious waffles and Belgian fries. We stayed the night in Bruges. We then went to Paris--this was the highlight of the trip. We toured Paris and some went to the Palatial Estates of Versailles. We all went to a Jazz show (with front-row seats) and visited the Parfumerie where we were shown how parfum (perfume) was made. We finished our tour in London with visits to Big Ben, the London Eye, London Bridge and Tower and the high-end store, Harrods of London. BIG UPS to my daughter Ying. She was the DDT Rep on her first solo trip. She did her thing and the family is now ready to take the reins of DDT from me!
We'll be doing this trip again in a couple of years. When we say GO-don't hesitate--GO! BOTH of the Groups were Sold Out this year.

**DDT SUMMER MADNESS 2025:**
After our fabulous Summer Madness trip to Punta Cana, I was besieged by people asking for DDT to do another Summer Madness trip. Although it was late in the year for booking, I spoke to the staff who agreed to do the administration of the trip. I then reached out to multiple locations. We needed a good spot that would give us the level of luxury we're accustomed to, let us have our parties and is all-inclusive with top shelf drinks and gourmet food.
The Hard Rock in Playa Del Carmen was the only place that could accommodate all of our needs. We only ordered 200 rooms for the trip. I asked in the newsletter to get a read on how many people were interested in going. I know people have said, "Doug. You KNOW I'm going"--but we need a more concrete response in case we need more rooms. If we don't order them in the first block, the price can go up on the next batch of rooms. **DDT SPAIN & PORTUGAL AND DDT BALI 2025:**
DDT Spain & Portugal is SOLD OUT. We have an active waiting list. DDT Bali only has 3 spots left (Joanne took one yesterday). As for Spain, the staff will be checking the payments this week. If you're not caught up on the Layaway plan, you'll be moved to the waiting list. The people who have sent deposits on the waiting list, will take those newly available spots. Unfortunately, we get stuck with me putting money up for people each year--then when they cancel--we're left paying for an empty room. We can't continue to do that. So, from this point on, the new DDT staff will be monitoring the payments closely-not just before we leave. These are going to be 2 AMAZING Bucket List trips--Get on it!

Today the first 40 of 80 from our DDT Family head to our DDT Trans Europe Express II and III trips. We're going on a trek throughout Europe from Amsterdam, to Brussels, to Paris and then onto London. It's the way we do it in DDT! Get it--and get it all at once!

**TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS II & III 2024:**
We're 5 days away from the first Group leaving for our Trans Europe Express trip. The second group will be leaving the following Sunday. Here's the final checklist:
 Did you get Trip Protection? You can get your own or purchase an IMG policy on our website under the reservation form. PLEASE GET IT! Your insurance does not cover you when you leave the Country.
 Did you get your tips together? It’s $90 PER PERSON ($10 a day--that covers the tour operator and the driver). We’ll collect them on the first day. Be sure to put them in a separate envelope.
 Did you pack your medicine? Be sure to keep them in your carry-on and not your checked luggage.
 Did you pack comfortable walking shoes or sneakers? You will need them.
 Did you pack your passport? Don’t wait until the last minute to do it.
 Did you consolidate your luggage into ONE CHECKED BAG and one carry-on? The bus is only made for one checked bag per person. If you bring more than one, it will have to go on your lap.
We're really going to enjoy this amazing trip as we trek thru some of the most historic cities in Europe!

HARD ROCK 2025:
I have Good news and Bad news for Summer Madness 2025. We're going to be at the Hard Rock Resort in Playa Del Carmen. The Good news is that we have the dates confirmed: July 12-17, 2025 (a week later than originally requested). The Bad news is that they are NOT giving us a "single supplement" rate. That is travel agent jargon for when the price of the room is reduced to a lower amount because a single person is in there. EXPLAIN: Since all rooms are based on "double occupancy", a single person would pay the same as 2 people in the room. For example: If a room costs $200 per night, a double occupancy will mean the 2 people would each pay $100. Without a single supplement, the single person would pay the same $200. With a "single supplement", the single rate would usually be $150 instead of the whole $200. Hard Rock is NOT giving us a single supplement--since we're booking so late into the season. So, this may be the trip that the majority of the people buddy up. We're probably going to have fewer singles this year. But I know some want their own space REGARDLESS.
RATES:
We're only getting 200 rooms this year (NOT 300). That comes out to approximately 350-375 people (with the singles). I anticipate it selling out quickly!
The rates are: $1450pp for a Double and Triple room. The rate is: $2600 for a Single room.
All rates include shuttle transportation to and from the Airport, access to all events, all meals and drinks and our party package (shirts, bags and wristbands).
The Payment Plan: Because we're so late with the booking, our Layaway payments are a little higher.
September 15, 2024: $300 for Dbl/Tpl $500 for Sgl.
November 15, 2024: $300 for Dbl/Tpl $500 for Sgl.
January 15, 2025: $300 for Dbl/Tpl $500 for Sgl.
March 15, 2025: $300 for Dbl/Tpl $500 for Sgl.
May 15, 2025: $250 for Dbl/Tpl $600 for Sgl.

**DDT CASINO ROYALE 2024:**
We're having our 4th Annual DDT Casino Royale event this weekend. It's a BBQ and Pool Party during the day (from 3 to 8pm) and then it's BLACK dress as the Gambling Tables open up: Craps, Roulette, Blackjack and Poker--from 8-11pm. We'll start to wind down from 11 to midnight--and we'll also be watching the Fight that night as well.
Here are the House rules:
 NO going behind the Bar—you’ll be asked to leave.
 NO Shoes inside of Club Zanzibar. Bring comfy slippers/ socks if you plan on hanging inside.
 NO Parking in the Driveway (especially on the Grass). Please Park on one side of the street in front.
 NO Loud or Abusive Behavior—we keep it cool.
 Bring your own towel if you plan on swimming.
 Bring your own drink, if you don’t drink Sangria.
 Bring a Dessert if you like.
 Please tip your Card Dealer a couple of dollars since we’re playing with play money.
 No Crashing at the House this year—Get that Hotel room!!
For those who are traveling from points in Atlanta--you can shower and change at the house between events--bring a toiletry bag and towels. The people staying at the Hotels can run back and forth since they're only 2 miles away.

Please know that if you step on the property, you will not hold DDT Contracting Services, Inc (DDT), or Douglas Colon, liable for any issues or accidents happening here.

**TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS II & III**
We'll be heading to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London in 2 weeks (for Group 1) and in 3 weeks for Group 2. It's going to be a Fantastic Journey and is the last DDT trip for the year.

All of the Travel Docs have gone out. If you didn't receive yours, please contact me ASAP. Please send me your flight info too, so we can try to coordinate shuttles to and from the Hotels. If you purchased the group flights--the shuttle is included in your package. If you didn't, please buddy up and take a car service or taxi to/from the Hotels.

We're still getting the balance statements out to everyone. No one will be allowed to check-in to the Hotel in Amsterdam with an outstanding balance.

**2025 TRIPS:**
 DDT SPAIN AND PORTUGAL—March 23-April 1, 2025, is SOLD OUT. We have a Waiting List.
 DDT BALI--May 24-31, 2025, has a few slots open--BUT YOU NEED TO GET YOUR IN DEPOSITS ASAP!
 DDT SUMMER MADNESS PLAYA DEL CARMEN/HARD ROCK--July 5-10, 2025: The contract is still in their legal office with my requested concessions, but it’s a GO! We’ll be posting the flyer on the website next week. It's going to be a quick deposit needed ($200 Dbl/Tpl and $300 Single) since we're behind in the payment plan.
 DDT GHANA—SEPTEMBER 1-10, 2025: We only have 8 slots left before this trip sells out. GET YOUR DEPOSITS IN!
 DDT EGYPT IV—October 6-17, 2025: We can go up to 100 people on this trip, so we still have slots open. THIS IS THE TRIP THAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS GO ON FIRST!

**4TH ANNUAL BREAKING HALL OF FAME CEREMONY: **
On another note, I'm proud to announce the 4th Annual Award Ceremony for the BREAKING HALL OF FAME. It'll be held at the Riverbank State Park in Harlem on Sunday, November 3rd from 3-7pm. We have the Theatre and Stage and a lot of seating. Our art has spread from 30 Teens in the Bronx and Harlem to 30 Million Break Dancers in the World--and we were just in the Olympics. All are welcome to attend!
