Cooperstown is magical this time of year, and the Great Room here is our favorite place to be.

This is the site of many spectacular Christmases, and we’re immensely grateful to be able to gather in this space with our family - especially this time of year.

Part 2 of our ongoing reflections on two years back takes a look at the Kitchen & Keeping Room. This tends to be the space where people gravitate while together, and for good reason.

One of the many advantages we had when returning to this space is the knowledge of those Keeping Room floors that we brought back to life.

Fun Architectural Fact: dating back to the 1700s, a Keeping Room is defined as “a space adjacent to the kitchen, typically with a fireplace or wood stove, where friends and family can gather to keep the cook company while they prepare a meal.”

Especially thankful for all the memories here, and for our friends who helped make it happen.

This week marks two years since we officially returned to after 17 years away. After four different owners, this place we love was in need of a bit of TLC.

While we spend most of our free time daydreaming about new projects, this is a good moment to reflect on all the work we’ve put into it over the past two years. This has been an incredibly fulfilling labor of love.
