So happy to see Shore Acres State Park and its gift center reopened!

The Friends of Shore Acres Information and Gift Center has reopened with the Cape Arago road repair. Thank you for your patience as we transition back to being open daily.
The hours for February and the first weekend in March will be as follows:
8th & 9th open 11 am - 3 pm
10th - 14th closed Monday - Friday
15th - 28th open daily 11 am- 3 pm
March 1st and 2nd 11 am - 3 pm
March 3rd - November 26th open daily 10:30 am to 4:30 pm
November 27th - December 31st 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm Holiday Lights

🦀Don't know about you, but we're so ready for the Annual Charleston Crab Feed coming up this Saturday (February 8, 2025), at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) in Charleston! Hope you'll join us for this most delicious fundraiser event, hosted by the Charleston Merchants Association, and featuring over 900 pounds of fresh Dungeness crab sourced from local Charleston crabbers.

👉Enjoy whole or half crab dinners with sides, a roll, and optional desserts provided by the Charleston Fishing Families, who benefit from dessert donations. For non-crab lovers, gourmet hot dogs with sides are available. ***OFFICIAL UPDATE ON STATE PARKS***

From our friends at Oregon State Parks:
Active construction on the Cape Arago Highway slide begins Monday, January 27th, 2025. The road will be closed to all vehicle, bike, and foot traffic. Visitors will still be able to access the Bog Trail between the campground and Yoakam Point, the day-use areas of Sunset Bay, and the portion of the Oregon Coast Trail (OCT) that goes from South Sunset Bay Day Use to Norton Gulch. There will not be access to any trails south of Norton Gulch while construction is happening. Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks will be inaccessible during this time.

Construction is expected to last several weeks as contractors rebuild the road as well as repair infrastructure. Road work is extremely weather dependent, but parks will communicate via official channels an estimated date for reopen as we work through the construction.
