The Salty Swan OBX

Did you know? Each September, Tundra Swan migrate from the Arctic tundra of Alaska to… our house! (Okay, we have yet to invite them inside.) But they like to hang out in the bay right behind it, and are rather vocal guests. These guys became a favorite part of our winter visits and inspired the new house name, the Salty Swan.

We finally took a dip (or two, more like three) in the hot tub during our last stay. Let me tell you, it was the perfect way to wrap up a long day of work. 👌🏼🍷

Fifth bedroom upgrades: Replaced the old, squeaky pyramid bunk with a twin over queen (more sleeping room, yay!). New mattresses, bedding and pillows. Roku streaming stick added and deep clean done. Still to come: (you guessed it) paint and blinds! Swipe for before.

Twin room upgrades: all new mattresses, bedding and pillows. We added a bunk and removed the trundle from the fifth bedroom. Deep clean done. Roku stick added. Still to come: paint and blinds! We think it turned out pretty cute! Swipe for before.

Queen master suite one upgrades: interior paint, new queen mattress, bedding and pillows. Deep clean. Roku streaming stick. This room has direct elevator access, and is jus steps from the hot tub. What more could you need?? Still to come: upgraded blinds.

Main living area upgrades:
New couches & area rug. Replaced about a third of the windows (which were fogged between the panes). Interior paint (wasn’t easy but we did it!). Upgraded the blinds. New vent covers. Deep clean. Added a Roku streaming stick to the tv and set up a phone/computer/device charging station. Swipe for the before.

We are the proud new owners of this beauty: a soundfront vacation home in Corolla, NC! The Salty Swan (formerly Cypress Sunset) is dog friendly, has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, private pool, hot tub, elevator, putting green, tiki bar, and amazing sunsets. If you come in the fall and winter months, you will see the hundreds of swans who make the Currituck Bay their winter home (more on that in another post). We have already put a lot of work into the house, and there’s loads more to do, so stay tuned to see the upgrades!
