Mardi Gras is fast approaching, and we cannot wait!

Have you experienced the Barefoot Mardi Gras parade on Padre Island yet? It's happening this Saturday, and is sure to be one heck of a party! Enjoy floats, decorated golf carts, and costumed walkers, all who are barefoot.

CBMC contributor, Shy, is a Padre Island local, and has written an exceptional guide to this event. She covers what to wear, what to bring (especially for kids!) and how to kick it up a notch to elevate your parade experience.

Check our new parade route as you plan your day at the beach on March 1 for Barefoot Mardi Gras PARADE 2025!
- Head in or tail in parking – east to west only
- Drive slow! Use caution and look out for others.
- Do not remove or move orange flags marking the parade route.
- Do not bring glass containers.
- Bring your own trash bags and help us by taking your trash with you.
- The parade route will close at 10:30am-ish or earlier if the beach is full.
- There is a public parking lot on Windward
- We parade Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold!
