: Did you know the airport has multiple safe, convenient areas for drivers to sit and wait to pick up arriving travelers? Hint: it isn't the front curb line. 🤦
The newest area is the "Passenger Pick-Up Waiting Area!" Keep an eye out for it on the main road coming into the airport, before the light on the right.✈🙌🚗

: Did you know the TSA checkpoint at SYR now opens at 3:30 am daily? This is part of our federal partner Transportation Security Administration - TSA's efforts to accommodate the record breaking traffic Syracuse is experiencing.

Pro tip: if you have an early morning flight, take advantage of this and arrive to the airport two hours prior to your departure! Our airline partners (generally) open their ticket counters at least two hours prior to your flight.

As SYR traffic surges to unprecedented levels, wait times at the TSA security checkpoint are increasing to over 45 minutes at times for the early morning bank of departures. We cannot stress this enough: get to the airport 2⃣ hours prior to your scheduled departure!

This will give you enough time to:
🚗Find parking/get dropped off
🧳Visit airline ticket counter to drop bags
👮Get comfortably through TSA security checkpoint
⤴️Find your gate

We know we sound just like a broken record, but the following cannot be stated enough during this holiday travel stretch here at SYR:

⏰Arrive 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure. This will give you enough time to comfortably get through TSA security screening and have some time to enjoy the amenities SYR has to offer.
🚗Watch our Facebook and Twitter feeds for parking updates. The airport authority will post parking status updates as capacities change in each lot. Please note, the airport authority will not be able to respond to individual requests for parking status updates.
✈️Confirm the status of your flight directly with your airline. Regardless of time of year, they remain the best source of information regarding the status of your flight(s).
