BreakAway Health Corporation is a comprehensive behavioral health agency, established in 1983 in Costa Mesa, California. Our earliest operation was as an Adult DUI program however, in 1984 we became State licensed as an adolescent intensive outpatient program and we remain one of the oldest specialist IOPs in Southern California. BreakAway Health’s treatment programs are designed and built around

family systemic values using evidence-based therapeutic models that have proven to be the most effective in treating substance abuse and behavioral health issues. We have used our own experiences, not only in recovery, but through the BreakAway Health program to build an unrivaled service. Severe substance use disorders (SUD) have been recognized as chronic, relapsing disorders from which people can recover and lead productive lives through long-term treatment, continuing care, and recovery support. The substantial change in understanding the nature of addiction as a chronic rather than an acute illness or a moral failure calls for a change in social perceptions, substance use prevention, treatment, and outcome expectations.

is substance use not your primary problem? That's OK, we offer a full mental health treatment program. Working or attending school during the day? That's OK, we offer an evening IOP track!
Breakaway Health Corporation has a wide range of services that are offered to clients including weekly individual therapy sessions, one on one time with a case manager who offers SUD + mental health counseling, resume building, & job placement assistance. Medication management under a psychiatrist, brain mapping, daily group therapy, lunch provided to our PHP clientele, and access to community 12-step support and so much more.
