Look at this exquisite creature 🙌. I had the honor of speaking with S, her friend M, and her sisters A and J at the Epic Events & Entertainment June Wedding and their TVD story absolutely floored me. I’ve transcribed it here for you. It’s long, but I promise, it’s worth it ♥️:

**Why did you start watching The Vampire Diaries?

S: Almost a year ago we started going through a really hard time with my mom and we needed a distraction—The Vampire Diaries became our escape. There are moments that are light and entertaining, but the way the show explores grief and family and supporting one another through really hard times, that’s what made me fall in love with it. We would watch a new episode after we got back from the hospital. It got us through some really hard times in the early days, and continues to get us through the hard times we’re still going through.

**What does family mean to you?

J: Family means never giving up, always supporting one another no matter what, always fighting for each other no matter what.

M: I also think that chosen family in the Vampire Diaries is really amazing. I’ve been really moved by how S, J, and A let me in their family during this hard time. It means a lot because I didn’t have a family unit like that. We just love each other and we love the Vampire Diaries!

**What is one of the most important messages you’ve learned from The Vampire Diaries?

J: Everyone is redeemable. All these characters make so many mistakes and they kick themselves for these things that they’ve done. And yet they are still loved and they are still able to find peace. I really like that message. It’s like a comfort. No matter what you think you’ve done or what’s happened, you’re still able to be loved.

**What made you connect with the show?

A: The thing that struck me the most about The Vampire Diaries is the way that it tackles grief. When Elena loses Jeremy and turns her humanity off because she can’t deal with that loss because she’s already lost so much. We as humans, we don’t have that option. It’s interesting to think about how many people in the world would turn their humanity off. That scene . . .I never felt so connected with something I’ve seen on a screen.

This trip was amazing. This was our first time here and The Hideaway made it so much better. This trip was totally “epic.” The Hideaway was amazing it gave us the TVD feel and with the stuff I was given I say this was the best!

Dear Diary,

This was the best “Sisters” Trip by far! This was our very first trip here to Mystic Falls! I am a huge Vampire Diaries fan and now after watching almost the first season here in this Epic Airbnb, my sister is too…but so far she is ‘Team Stefan”! Me? “Damon”!

Amanda, we cannot thank you enough for all the gifts, bloodbags, cupcakes, roses and all the detail and work you put in to making our stay Epic! This home is absolutely beautiful and you feel like you have stepped in to TVD!

You did not leave any details out and you thought of everything! WE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS EPIC TRIP!!!

I don't know about ya'll, but hot and hangry is not a good combo 🤣! I cannot thank Olive & Oak Charcuterie enough for their absolutely amazing, positively delicious, and super generously portioned boxes that kept me fueled at the Epic Events & Entertainment June Wedding. The boxes were made to order so I was able to get mine with no nuts and my vegetarian friend was able to get hers with no meat. The decadent salted dark chocolate caramels were unexpected and insanely good!! If you're in New Jersey, you should definitely check them out!

Before one of the Epic Events & Entertainment panels started, I was talking with a woman about tattoos. She showed me a simple 444 tattooed on the back of her neck and told me it was a connection to loved ones she’d lost. I’d never heard of angel numbers before and thought it was interesting. I told her that both my parents had passed and sometimes the overhead lights in whatever car I’m driving will turn on and it feels like a little hello from my mom. An hour later I go to get coffee and notice the woman standing behind me has a 444 necklace on. She tells me how the numbers are important to her as a connection to loved ones. Weird. Right?! Then, later in the day, I offer to take a mom and daughter’s photo and notice the daughter has 444 TATTOOED ON HER HAND. Really weird, right?! So I start telling the girl with the hand tattoo about the two other women I met, and she’s looking at me like I’m a little crazy. Just a little. Then, the woman with the neck tattoo comes into the tent, and I look across the room and see the woman with the necklace. All three women are in the same place at the same time with all their 444s. I’ve literally never noticed anyone with angel number tattoos before. But I’m thinking that the loved ones of those three women were sending a powerful message yesterday, and maybe my mom was trying to get my attention, too.

Couple of unexpected quick stops on the way to day 3 Epic Events & Entertainment
June Wedding. Bitten the Label the Label sold out of sprays yesterday, so we had to restock! Dropped by the house to grab the water bottles our guests forgot. Bonus: got to make spray bundles for Paul and Ian and got to meet our sweet guest MaryJo. A great start to the last day of the con ♥️🖤🩸!
