One question I get asked a lot is what should you do if you get stuck while traveling. Here are some tips that hopefully bring some clarity.

1. Ask Me for Help!
One of the perks of having a travel advisor is that you don’t have to tackle this alone. Whether it’s rebooking your flight, finding a last-minute hotel, or figuring out a backup plan, I’ve got your back. Just give me a shout, and we’ll sort it out together.

2. Call Your Airline Right Away
If you know bad weather is on the horizon, don’t wait—get ahead of the rush! Hop on the airline’s app or give them a call to check your options. I like to attempt 3-points of contact. 1. You call 2. I call and 3. You wait in line. Eventually one option will work and we’ll stick with that to get you results.

3. Keep a “Weather Delay Survival Kit”
Always keep essentials like snacks, phone chargers, a toothbrush, and something comfy in your carry-on—just in case. You’ll thank yourself when the delays roll in, and you’re not stuck buying a $65 airport hoodie.

4. Make the Most of Travel Insurance
If you grabbed travel insurance (and I hope you did!), now’s the time to use it. Whether it’s covering unexpected hotel stays or missed connections, it’s like having a safety net for travel hiccups. If you’re not sure how to file a claim, I can help walk you through it.

5. Find the Silver Lining
Stuck at the airport? Treat yourself to a nice meal, explore nearby attractions, or dive into that book you’ve been meaning to read. Sometimes delays turn into mini adventures—it’s all about perspective!

Honeymooning in St. Lucia. 🏖️ Seth wanted to take his new wife, Hannah, on the honeymoon of a lifetime. They visited a really cool waterfall (and got an epic pic). They also visited Sulphur Springs, a mud spa described as the “world’s only drive-in volcano” which was formed thousands of years ago during volcanic eruptions. 🌋

I was so happy to help plan this trip with them and would love to help you too!

How do you know your vacation is safe when booking with a travel advisor?

It’s nice to know an expert in the subject has their eye on the trip. It’s kind of like cutting your own hair versus going to a stylist. Sure, you could maybe do it yourself... but it’ll probably go a lot smoother if you leave it to the pro. You’ll have me there to hold your hand or help with whatever may come up!

I’ve had clients ask me about how to order dinner, what electrical adapters to use, if they can bring their hairdryer, etc. I’ve also helped with medical issues, missed flights and even shark bites!
