The original farmhouse used for the Georgia-filmed episodes of the was located approximately at 2201 Lenora Rd, near Loganville. This home was already old when the Dukes began filming, and sadly fell into neglect in the decades that followed.
In the 1990's, the outer walls of the farmhouse were torn down, but another set of walls were discovered within. Turns out, the farmhouse had been built around the walls of a Civil-War era log cabin.
This discovery halted demolition of the remaining structure for awhile. Unfortunately, no one could pay for the extensive reconstruction to restore the historical dwelling. Eventually it was declared unsafe to leave standing, and the remains of the homestead were dismantled in early 2011.
On the bright side, the owner of the property at the time was somewhat sympathetic to Dukes fans. Finding himself ordered to tear down the structure, and pay for it out of his own pocket, he made the best of it by offering to sell pieces of the remaining building to Dukes fans. This helped offset his costs somewhat, while offering Dukes fans souvenirs of the beloved homestead.
Somewhere out there, pieces of the Duke farm still exist, by brick, block, beam and windowpane, and anything else that could be detached and carried along.
