John’s talent, vast knowledge and unwavering dedication have helped us continually improve our operational efficiency and service excellence. He followed in the footsteps of his father and other family members who worked at our plant – a proud family tradition totaling more than a century of combined service. We were happy to renew our scholarship program for John Swett High School students interested in pursuing careers in manufacturing. Our $15,000 donation will help students in the school’s CTE Careers Academy on their path to a certificate or degree from a local community college trade program.

After more than 43 years of service, Alfredo Baptista, oiler on our Maintenance team, is set to begin his well-earned retirement. Since joining our team in 1980 as Specialty Fork Truck Driver, his hard work, expertise and positive attitude have made him a valuable member of our team in positions throughout our plant. Also retiring are Packaging Technicians Satnam Singh (44 years), Paramjit Gill (22 years) and Amelia Dela Cruz (20 years), dedicated employees who have packaged sugar here in Crockett that has gone to families and bakers across California and much of the country for decades. Please join us in wishing Alfredo, Satnam, Amelia and Paramjit the best in retirement!
