We have three cabins available to rent. Our Mountain Laurel cabin has a beautiful front porch and balcony for your relaxation. While sitting on the porch, you just might hear the melodious song of a hermit thrush or spot a scarlet tanager in a pine tree. Lion's Den, our newest cabin, has a spacious bedroom and an indoor bathroom! It also has a generous size porch where you can sip your morning cof

fee and enjoy the pines around you. Our Pine Marten cabin is the smallest of our cabins but our guests tell us they love the "tiny house" feel to it. It has a porch with a roof over it and an outdoor fireplace to have fires in while being protected from any rain that may fall. All three cabins are spaced out on the property to ensure our guests have their own quiet spot in the pine woods. There are several well-groomed trails on the property to hike.

Rick post! Spent the morning with my daughter in-law Jessica. She's the most amazing woman mother and wife. Always puts her heart into caring for her family and being there for anyone and everyone who needs her. Today out of time she makes it happen anyway by setting up her phone on dash with spelling words and we all have fun practicing. Then she and I take a nature hike at Pinellas lake park.

Our Pine Marten cabin (named after the weasel once spotted there) is a cozy little cabin in the pine woods. With a queen size bed on the main floor and two beds (a double and a twin) in the upstairs loft, it has that "tiny house" feel to it that many of our guests love. The spacious covered front porch makes for a great gathering place to sit around the fireplace no matter what the weather. Reserve by going to our website: www.kingspinescabins.com

As many of you know, we like to greet our guests at our cabins. A woman staying at our Lion's Den cabin for the fourth time with her husband and their two children told Rick how much they all love being at the cabin. Her five year old daughter proved this to be true. Staring at Rick for a few seconds, she cocked her head and said, "I cry every time I leave here, all the way home."

We had a wonderful weekend at the cabin with our dogs. We arrived on a cold February afternoon and the cabin was cold, but the fire started quickly and there was dry wood available and ready to go. The cabin warmed quickly and it was incredibly cozy. The rainwater showers in the morning were very refreshing. The water took about an hour to heat up but it was a fun experience to live off the grid in the winter. We woke up to silence and gently falling snow, beautiful trees and stoked the fire. The dogs loved exploring and enjoying the space outside. Follow the recommended packing list and you will have an amazing time. There are no bells and whistles, just a cozy retreat and extremely comfortable atmosphere. Get out of your comfort zone with gadgets and luxuries and go enjoy a simple relaxing time to reconnect with nature. You won't be disappointed.

February reservations are filling up, but we still have a few vacant spots here and there on the calendar. Cozy warm cabin, beautiful views out the windows, hikes through the snow, we have all that.

It was pouring rain all night and then suddenly it stopped in the early morning hours. Looked out the upstairs window in Lion's Den when we woke up and saw this.

I think this should become our motto. So many of our guests tell us by words they leave in our guestbook how the sight of a squirrel doing acrobats to get to the bird feeder made them laugh. Some have told us how turning off their electronic devices and just spending time with their family renewed their love for each other. Playing board games brought them closer. Watching the birds gather around the feeder brought a quiet sense of joy. Taking a hike in our pine woods, laughing around a bonfire, sitting on the porch reading a book, watching the snow fall – all brought peace. After all, it’s the little things that make us smile inside.

Our Story

The King's Pines is located on 50 acres of pine woods in the foothills of the Adirondacks. We currently have two cabins available to rent and a third nearly complete. Our Mountain Laurel cabin has a beautiful front porch and balcony for your relaxation. While sitting on the porch, you just might hear the melodious song of a hermit thrush or spot a scarlet tanager in a pine tree. Our Pine Marten cabin is located at the opposite end of the property from the Mountain Laurel cabin, in order to ensure our guests have their own quiet spot in the pine woods. There are several well-groomed trails on the property to hike. We are back to nature and use rainwater for the hot showers and solar powered electricity for the lighting in the cabin.

Both our Mountain Laurel cabin and Lion’s Den, the cabin that we are in the process of completing, were built from the trees on the property. After felling the trees, the logs were put through the sawmill and then used to build the cabins. Each cabin is unique in its own way. We love hearing our guests tell us how they love all the little touches in the cabins and how special their stay was.

Come and enjoy the quiet!
