Here’s you Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trail Report for the weekend of February 14:
Approximately 40 miles of trails are groomed and riding very well. We have 4 different widths of groomed trails to accommodate different experiences and rider abilities.

The Paved Cuyuna Lakes State Trail is groomed 8’-10’ wide from Riverton to Croft Mine (5 miles).

The Sagamore Unit Adaptive trails are groomed ~48” wide (7.5 miles)

Galloping Goose, Dragline, Haul Road, and Cuyuna Connector are groomed via snowmobile at ~30” wide.

Hopper Hill, Switchback, Manuel Drive, Trout and Bobsled are groomed via Trail Tamer at 24” wide.

Good trails for snowshoeing or Hok Skiing that are not groomed include Roly Poly, Sandhog Mountain, Mucker Mountain, Crusher/Miners Mountain, Bison Run, Mahnomen North Unit, Timbershaft, and Cruser’s Kettle.

Remember foot traffic is not allowed on groomed trails except with Snowshoes or Skis.
Bicycle tires must be 3.7” wide or wider. Dogs are not allowed on any groomed trails other than the paved Cuyuna Lakes State Trail and must be on a 6’ max leash on all other non groomed trails and the CLST.

Bicycles are not allowed on designated snowmobile trails within the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.

Fantastic story

Please take a moment to read this impactful story of a tremendous loss in our mountain bike community and the generosity of remembrance it sparked from the kids and coaches of our local Cuyuna Lakes High School Mountain Bike Team…..

The Cuyuna Lakes HS MTB Team prides itself in doing hard things by pushing each other outside of our comfort zones to learn and grow. For the second year, the team climbed Mount Ski Gull this past fall as many times as possible within 90 minutes to celebrate the life and memory of Jack Hennies.��Jack was a rider who embodied the Cuyuna Lakes High School Mountain Bike Team’s core values. He was respectful, he was inclusive, and he worked hard. He was fun, he was funny, and his smile was infectious. Without the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails, the team wouldn’t have known Jack or have been able to share space and time, our most valuable assets, with him.

Supported by folks who believe that moving our bodies together and outdoors builds healthy minds and bodies, the Cuyuna Lakes High School Mountain Bike Team proudly donates $10,000 of fundraised proceeds to the place and system that brings all of us together. The place that connects our cycling community, our families, and our time. The place that pushes us to grow and challenges us physically and mentally. Cuyuna.
