Thanks for checking out my new site for our vacation home. We are introducing it to our family and friends for stays with the idea of possibly listing it on Airbnb. If you received a link to this site from me, Lynn Burkhardt, and you are interested in staying at Bonefish, send me a message.
It has 3 bedrooms to accommodate 6 guests with 1 king master en suite and another bathroom shared by a king and a queen. It is a stilt home with only stairs to access the living level. I have redecorated the inside and I need to take new photos to show. I will post those soon.
There are 2 single person kayaks for enjoying the local canals or venturing into the aquatic preserve where you can see porpoise, manatee, eagles, osprey, otters, diving and shore birds, leaping mullet fish and more. There are 2 old bicycles for enjoying the local shady Ozello streets. There is a dock and boat lift available for your boat with several launch ramps nearby.
Ozello is a small friendly fishing village but boasts 3 excellent restaurants, 2 that are within walking distance. Driving the winding Ozello Trail, aka the gator's tail, out to the 3rd restaurant, Peck's, is an experience in itself, but the views at Peck's are remarkable. If you want the blue crabs at Peck's, call ahead to reserve an order from the limited fresh supply. After dinner, drive a bit further to the Community Park/Ramp for more beautiful views, especially at sunset or after dark for magnificent star viewing.
This is Old Florida without theme parks and crowded beaches. A slower pace of life full of nature, delicious seafood and friendly folks. There are abundant clear springs in the surrounding areas, fun for tubing, kayaking or swimming and many are favorite wintering areas for manatees. Come explore a Florida not many see or just enjoy the views and quiet.
