Weather's getting warmer! ☀️ What does that mean for the manatees? 🤔
Heres some frequently asked questions!
🌿Are you still seeing manatees? Yes! We have manatees all year round. though majority of manatees have started making their way back to the gulf we have a residential population of 50-100! 😎
🌿Are manatees near the springs? This is tricky. Since manatees are wild animals, they go where they please. We have been seeing manatees away from the springs in order to eat but every trip is different! 😊
🌿Do I have to know how to swim? Swimming with manatees is a great introduction for those who either cant swim or have never snorkeled before. Our crew does an excellent job making sure you're comfortable in the water no matter your swimming ability. 🌊

Did you know manatees prefer shallow waters? 🤔
It's true! 🤓 They are usually found in 3-7 foot water and they travel in 10-16 foot water. Manatees are rarely found in water deeper than 20 feet. So no deep sea diving for these animals! 😂

Check out this sleepy manatee coming up for a breath! 🥱
When manatees are resting or sleeping, they can hold their breath for up to 20 minutes! So if you see a sleeping manatee, don't swim over the top of it as it may disturb them.

This curious manatee was caught nibbling on our rope! 🧐Manatees often use dock lines or thick ropes as teething toys because their teeth continuously grow throughout their lives. How adorable is that?🥰

SeaDaddys Adventures & Dive Center

We now offer snorkel training and free diving introduction course, performed by a Life Guard we have on staff. please contact us for details.

SeaDaddys is located Downtown Crystal River Florida “Home of the Manatees”. Our Scuba Diving Services includes Dive Training, air fills and a Retail store where you can upgrade your Dive Gear today. We are open 7 days a week. If you decide to train with us you will automatically be enrolled in our V.I.D. program (very important diver) you will receive no less than 10 % off new gear purchase’s, free air fills and much more. To become a diver and achieve your first dive certification, you must complete online dive fundamentals training, next you will join us for 2 days of training, diving both days, successfully completing this training will provide you with your “Open water Dive Certification”. Some divers choose not to increase their level of diving certification and are completely content with the Open Water Dive Certification level, and that is just fine many divers prefer this level of training especially if their love of diving for example is reef diving most reefs can be visited in shallower depths. However if you feel you want to increase your dive education we can provide training up to Dive Instructor. Please remember increasing your dive education does not mean you have to reach deeper depths, on the contrary it may mean for you that you would prefer to simply have more dive knowledge achieving a higher certification is just a bonus. For other divers it may mean increasing your dive certification as a career move, diving for a living has a nice ring to it, at times this can be a demanding career however a very rewarding career. One of the most important things to remember no matter why you dive, is to Just Keep Diving!

Our Manatee swims and other tour options are also available 7 days a week all year. Provided with our manatee swim tours is manatee and sea life education session. We want everyone to enjoy swimming with the manatees in Crystal River Florida while we provide the needed protection for the manatees. When the swims are conducted correctly it is a great experience had by all participants. Manatees can be curious and swim up to you, others pretend you are not there and continue that days journey with out even stopping to say hello, other manatees seem to ask for attention that we are not allowed to give for example over the years many manatees have stayed at our boat patiently looking right up to you from the water for minutes at a time as if they are asking for someone to come in the water to play or swim with them.

On a manatee swim tour our guest float at the surface in the Spring Fed waters, manatees have been known to swim underneath them or snuggle up against you. Despite manatees massive size they can be so kind and funny. While being in the water with these animals should always be considered a special time or event, when you become “the” guest that the manatee just can’t seem to leave you a lone and continues to swim up to you and roll over in front of you, it is simply Amazing! Swimming with the manatees is unlike any other animal encounter or excursion you may be inclined to participate in. Join us today.
