This is at 7 am and 5 degrees above ZERO on the way to school. The sun was just starting to crest above the mountain and you can see the frost on every branch of every tree. It was an AWESOME sight we just had to capture! ENJOY THE MORNING

It's a bit difficult to create this post. But I did want to let you know about this special person, L David "Sonny" Sellers, my husband.

He was born in Delray Beach, Florida, March 6, 1935. His parents were Allie and Fred Sellers. We married June 6, 1969 and last year celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary.

Sonny was number 9 in the state of Florida playing tennis and won a college scholarship for his tennis playing. He was active in boy scouts for over 25 years. Taught math and science for over 17 years. Started a summer boys camp in 1960 and managed it till 1976. Then in 1983 opened Arrowmont Stables & Cabins for the public.

Every year we've had old campers return with their spouses, children, and even grandchildren to show them where it was they spent their summers as young boys learning to become men all while having fun doing so. It was a treat for us to see them again as well.

Since 1983 Sonny has been teaching our guests how to ride horses before every trail ride and our horses how to give those rides safely. He loves to teach. You can't spend much time around him without him showing you or explaining to you how to do something.

And if no one was around, he loved teaching me something about sports (he loved watching Florida state sports of any kind) or horses or vehicles or what have you. Truthfully, sometimes I just pretended to listen about the sports stuff... then he would just explain to me again the next time. It's a good thing I'm a listening by nature and not a talker. He's the talker in the family.

He's been very sick for several months now and has endured a lot (Sonny's a tough old bird). Our children and grandchildren have been there every step of the way. We both have told each other many times how incredibly blessed we are to have them. What joy they have brought into our lives.

They are also continuing his work with the horses and the stables and the internet business he helped start a few years ago with our son. He is very proud of the work they are all doing.

He left us to join the Father and our Lord last Monday, March 30, 2020. We miss him dearly. He has a great sense of humor and a quick wit. We know they are having a party in heaven and we want to celebrate his life here. Unfortunately, that is being delayed by the corona virus. So It will probably be August before we are able to do it properly.

It has nothing to do with party affiliation, both sides have abused their privilege. It has everything to do with keeping them accountable and to stop using our tax dollars for their personal benefit.
