Trail season is upon us!

Spring is calling, and so is the Big Savage Tunnel!

On the afternoon of Monday, March 24, crews from Somerset County will be reopening this iconic tunnel for the season, reconnecting Meyersdale and Frostburg along the Great Allegheny Passage. After months of hibernation behind custom winter doors, the tunnel will be ready for bikers, hikers, and adventure seekers once again!

Go GREEN this weekend as the annual Hooley Pub Crawl returns to Downtown Cumberland. 🍀

Go Green this Saturday at Cumberland's annual Hooley Pub Crawl.

The Cumberland City Police Department would like to announce the following parking restrictions and street closures that will take place for the annual Hooley Pub Crawl in the downtown area on Saturday, March 15, 2025 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.

The Cumberland Street Department will place “No Parking Signs” on designated streets in the downtown area on Friday, March 14, 2025. Parking will be prohibited from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15th, until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 16th at the following locations: Centre Street from Harrison Street to Frederick Street; Pershing Street from Mechanic to Liberty Street and the MPA parking lot on Merchants Alley, Baltimore Street from Mechanic Street to Queen City Drive and Liberty Street from Frederick Street to Harrison Street.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday March 15, 2025: Centre Street from Harrison Street to Frederick Street; Liberty Street from Frederick Street to Harrison Street, Baltimore Street from Mechanic Street to Queen City Drive, George Street from Baltimore Street to Union Street and Pershing Street at Mechanic Street. Union Street will be closed just prior to Centre Street in such a fashion that individuals can still exit from the Centre City parking garage onto Union Street. All streets should be opened by 2:00 a.m.


Please expect an increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area. Please plan accordingly and as always be safe
