Our Story
The Hoffman House is a vacation rental on Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland WI. Located in the heart of the Island City, Hoffman House is just a few blocks from shopping and restaurants. Our property is one of the few remaining wooded lots within the city limits. Enjoy your walk down the trail to find a totally secluded lake shore area for you and your family.
The home was built around 1892 by G. C. Hodgins. The Hoffman Family purchased the property in the 1940’s. Bob and Jeanine Solum purchased the property in May of 2016 from Paul and Darlene Hoffman. It’s quite amazing that the Solum’s are only the 3rd owners.
The Solum’s had their eye on the home for many years. Jeanine grew up in the house across the street and Bob was born 2 doors down in the old Hospital. Jeanine and Bob sent a letter to the Hoffman’s in 2005 expressing interest in the house. Ten years later, the Hoffman’s called and set up a time for the Solum’s to take a look.
Bob and Jeanine fell in love. The purchase was completed in May of 2016, just in time for their daughter’s wedding on June 11th. The home provided the perfect hub for all the wedding festivities.
