Dear Travelers,

We have made the unfortunate decision to close our doors for good. We have had the pleasure of serving you all affordable trips throughout Ohio and more for over 6 years. The memories we've shared with everyone will carry on forever. Thank you to our lovely volunteers over the years that made our trips possible, and the amazing places that hosted us for a visit.

Thank you for being a valued traveler, and we hope you have a wonderful rest of the year. Bon voyage, safe travels. Until we meet again, my friend.

As our world returns to our new normal, we are all eager to travel and visit with each other again. We hope that everyone is visiting safely and following all state and local guidelines so we can continue on this path to normalcy. Destinations Ohio plans to have a brochure ready for you by late fall so that we can travel with you again in 2022! We will make sure to let everyone know (via facebook and phone call) when our brochure will be ready! We are unsure at this time if anything will look different for our group, but we promise to keep you all posted. Have a wonderful, and safe summer, and be on the lookout from us this fall for our 2022 brochure drop!

Put In Bay

91 degree weather on September 23? Much as we'd like to take credit for arranging the weather everything else WAS arranged by Destinations Ohio. Travelers enjoyed a day full with stops at the butterfly house, Perry's monument, putt putt golf and a guided tour of the island. A stop at Ryan's for dinner on the way home and the trip was as perfect as the weather!

"Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night..." Although this is the motto of the post office it could apply to Destinations Ohio who had to reschedule the planned first visit to Sluggers and Putters due to rain. Last time we felt that rather than risk a day wasted because of rain we would reschedule. This time the weather cooperated and travelers enjoyed Putt Putt golf, go karts and more! We're glad we waited and judging by the smiles I'd say everyone would agree,

On May 20th, Destinations Ohio took a ride down to Marietta Ohio and boarded the Valley Gem Sternwheeler( http://www.valleygemsternwheeler.com/) for a leisurely, scenic ride down the Ohio and Muskingum rivers. The weather was perfect as we relaxed and took in the beautiful scenery. After our river journey we enjoyed great food and amazing service at Shoney's. It was an awesome end to an amazing day.

On November 12th, Destinations Ohio went to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. Destinations Ohio Travelers were able to pet a stingray,and enjoy the large variety of salt and freshwater fish, Finally we walked through a glass tunnel as sharks swam overhead! Visitors were able to get " up close and personal" with the amazing predator's and a lucky few were able to high 5 the divers through the glass as they worked in the tank.

On September 19th, Destinations Ohio made their way to Put In Bay for a day of site seeing, shopping and fun! Travelers made their way through such attractions as Perry's Cave, The Butterfly House and they enjoyed a guided tour of the island and it's history.

On August 20th Destinations Ohio visited nearby Cumberland Ohio and stepped onto the African Plains. Travelers enjoyed a guided open air tour through the park that offered animals of all shapes and sizes. Many were only an arms length away at times. We finished the "safari" with a delicious meal at Quaker Steak and Lube in Canton.

On June 11th, Destination Ohio travelers discovered the amazing world in our own back yard, Cleveland courtesy of Discover My Cleveland http://www.discovermycleveland.com/ We enjoyed a delicious lunch as well as a site seeing cruise around Lake Erie on the Nautica Queen http://www.nauticaqueen.com/. When we came back to shore we made our way to the Christmas Story house http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/ where we toured the actual house used in the classic film. We were treated to behind the scenes stories about the movie and we got to see many of the original props up close. After that we made our way to the West Side market http://westsidemarket.org/ to shop and tour the world famous market. Finally, we made our way to Terminal Tower. We went 42 stories above the city to look out on the sites we had seen and admire the beauty of this incredible view. A breathtaking view was seen in every direction.

May 25th was the perfect day to be at Cedar Point. Sunny, hot and SO MUCH to do! Our travelers enjoyed the rides and some of our more adventurous folks took a spin on the roller coasters.

"Country roads, take me home..." was the theme for our latest trip. On May 14th Destinations Ohio took a ride to West Virginia to visit Blennerhassett Island http://www.blennerhassettislandstatepark.com/ Our trip began with a ride on an authentic stern wheeler which brought us to the island itself. Once on the island we enjoyed a delicious lunch and then we made our way to the Blennerhassett mansion. After a tour of the mansion and the grounds we did some shopping then we toured the island in a horse drawn, covered wagon. We then made our way back to mainland and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch right on the river at The Boathouse BBQ https://www.facebook.com/boathousebbq/. Fun, food and friends. A winning combination, any time.

Destinations Ohio is a travel agency that provides one day trips throughout Ohio and sometimes places just outside of Ohio. Though we primarily serve adults with a developmental disability, we encourage friends, family and caregivers to join us. We began in 2015, when Robin and Sean Bacola recognized that shorter, more affordable trips were not available anywhere. They felt that everyone should be introduced to fun and interesting trips in Ohio and surrounding areas. Robin and Sean took that vision and made it a reality. The first year there were only a few trips, such as Cleveland Zoo, and Monster Jams, and as people began to find out who we were, our traveler list grew. Today we have over 100 people that regularly travel with us. Most of our travelers attend many of the trips on the brochures and have been loyal travelers since our start. We thank you, the traveler, for believing in us and continuing to travel with us. You are the reason we do what we do. We want to travel with you all over Ohio...and some other places too, so we can experience all that Ohio has to offer!
