Michael says, “I’ve been reading ‘The Last Blood Carver’ by Vanessa Le for our teen book club here at the library and so far I’m enjoying it. From looking at the cover I didn’t expect a murder mystery, so I was happily surprised. It’s about a girl who can heal people with some sort of medical magic, and she is hired by a rich family to heal a member of their staff who is in a coma. She starts out the book with only a basic understanding of her powers, so it is fun to watch her study and grow as both a character and a healer throughout the book. I won’t go into too much more detail because I may ruin the mystery, but so far, it is a fun read.” Thanks for the rec, Michael!

Center Library’s next Tinker Tuesday will be held on November 28. This particular event will require advanced registration, as participants will be building their own King Lizard Robots! This lizard functions in two modes. When the IR sensor is activated in “chase” mode, your King Lizard Robot will bluff the threat with an energetic frill display. And each participant will get to take home their robot! ***Due to cost of the kit and the complexity of the build, this program is limited to ages 10 and up only.
