Gunung Kawi Sebatu is one of the most peaceful and beautiful temples in Bali.

In the middle of the water feature is a statue of Saraswati. Saraswati (Sanskrit: सरस्वती, IAST: Sarasvatī), also spelled as Sarasvati, is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, flowing water, abundance and wealth, art, speech, wisdom, and learning.

We design every sacred journey with opportunities in mind to
make the most of our surroundings. Today, while traveling with a small group in Ireland along the Wild Atlantic Way, we intentionally went through the Burren region on the way to Galway. It offers a profound connection to nature's wonders.

The rugged beauty of the cliffs, megalithic monuments, and diverse flora create a unique atmosphere that has inspired artists and filmmakers like Stephen Spielberg.

Traveling through this landscape in spring unveils a breathtaking palette of wildflowers, enriching the experience with vibrant colors and scents.

We drove along the narrow roads at a slower pace, allowing for a deeper immersion in the tranquility of the countryside. We also stopped to “lay on the rocks” to soak up their powerful magnetic energy. It’s the perfect opportunity to declare and claim that the “Universe has got my back.”

Every year, the paradise island of Bali in Indonesia is filled with rich and vibrant cultural activities.

One of the most striking events is the Ogoh-Ogoh celebration, which is an integral part of the Balinese New Year, known as Nyepi.

Ogoh-Ogoh are giant statues made from materials such as bamboo, wood, and paper, often adorned with colorful and intricate details. The tradition of Ogoh-Ogoh originates from Hindu beliefs in Bali and stems from ancient mythological stories. According to legend, Ogoh-Ogoh are used to drive away evil spirits, especially the Bhuta Kala spirits, believed to roam on the night before Nyepi to cleanse the universe.

Ogoh-Ogoh are not just giant statues displayed in parades; they also carry deep meaning and symbolism. Each element of Ogoh-Ogoh holds its own significance, such as facial expressions, body posture, and the accessories used. Through Ogoh-Ogoh, the Balinese convey messages about the battle between good and evil, and the importance of maintaining the balance of the universe.

The Ogoh-Ogoh celebration usually takes place on the night before Nyepi, known as New Year’s Eve. On this night, the Balinese gather to witness the spectacular Ogoh-Ogoh parade, filled with music, dance, and joy.

After the parade, the Ogoh-Ogoh are burned in a ceremony called “ngebakar Ogoh-Ogoh,” symbolizing the destruction of evil and the purification of the soul.
