The Experience of A Lifetime!

A STORY FROM THE OWNER:

Thinking back over my life, I am reminded of the Favor, Goodness and Faithfulness of God.

Here's one childhood memory in particular, that I'm sure many of you can relate to!
Every summer during my teenage years I would exercise to a fitness channel I liked and also watch a television show hosted by Robert Leach called "The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". Although raised by a single mother and poor, I always dreamed BIG!

There is an old saying, "If you want to make God laugh then tell him YOUR plans." Oh how true that is because my plan and vision was to someday own either a women's shoe store, a car wash, or a subway franchise. As a christian, I never once asked God, "What is your will for my life?" but I'm so grateful that He gave me His plans (for my life). God has blessed our family with this Limousine business, that on my own, I could not imagine the enormous impact that our clients would have on our family. Over 1,800 clients in nine years and counting. We (my wife and I) did not conceive of God using our business, on a daily basis, as a ministry to serve, pray, listen, and to care for those in need, especially with medical transportation.

We want to recognize and give A BIG SHOUT OUT to our clients for supporting us and referring our business. I thank Jesus Christ for allowing my wife and I to live out our dreams every day, serving and growing with each of you 😇.

A Letter From the Owner

It was a joy to see and hear the news of so many Moms who were loved and Celebrated for Mother's Day. With that in mind, I would like to share a story, as I always do, that will spotlight Christ, challenge you, grow you, cause you to think, or maybe even cause you to try something new. As I reflect on the pictures shared above, I'm reminded of how my mother helped to incorporate all of these positive emotions into me while I was growing up.

I can remember a time in my life when I was filled with JOY when my mother bought me an ATARI for my 12th Christmas. Another moment I was so filled with GRATITUDE was when my mom saved up and bought me a car for my high school graduation. To show you how grateful I was, it soon broke down on me as I was on my way home (I was filled with gratitude for all of 10 minutes). I told my mom not to worry, asked if I could borrow her car, and went to see my girlfriend, Vernita, that evening🙂. Another moment that filled my heart with joy and excitement was when my mom purchased her first home! I was about 15 years old at the time, and I was in Florida with my high school choir (YES, I can sing a little) at Disney World, so when I came home (Can you imagine the look on my face) to a home that belonged to Us - that was a PROUD moment.

My memory of SERENITY is when my mom would come to my siblings and my bedroom and say, "Let's GO!!" We would all get into the car, and she would drive us to a NICE restaurant to eat as a family. In those moments, I would sit there thinking how wonderful it is to have a mom like mine. My mother's Faith (like a mustard seed) in Christ Jesus throughout her life gave me so much INSPIRATION!! My mother had a dream God had given her, and one day, on the way to her taking me to elementary school, I witnessed her obedience in fulfilling that dream. I thought it was a moment of Abraham and Issac (LOL), but instead, she was throwing a jar filled with something into the Mississippi River. My mom trusted God in quitting her job, and one week later, she received a job offer to join a new company. I grew up watching this single mother on her knees praying to God, walking by Faith, and watching all that she'd prayed for come to pass - That's truly Inspiring.

I've just turned 50 years old in March and had a birthday celebration. My AWE moment was when my mother gave me a personalized blanket, an inscribed crystal plaque that I now have placed on my desk, and a personalized coffee mug to keep with me for when I'm driving to be reminded of how much she loves me. WOW!! Thinking about it brings tears to my eyes as I type, but that was my moment of awe from my mom. That night, she blew me away with her love in front of many witnesses.

I hope this story serves as a reminder to continue doing things in life that bring about these emotions. Whether you are helping others or doing something for yourself, strive to bring a little joy, gratitude, pride, serenity, inspiration, and moments of awe to your experiences. Trust me, someone will appreciate the impact you've made on their life.

Take The Journey, Enjoy The Ride

The month of March is full of wonderful things. For some parents, it means a break from school because of Spring Break. March also marks the end of winter and the start of Spring. But March also marks something special each year; It's my wife's and my birthday month. That's right, we are just a day apart (on the 24th & 25th). But this year, I'm turning the big 5-0! Yes, It's a milestone, a half-a-century man, and I'm still years away from getting my senior citizen discount coffee at McDonald's.

But for this newsletter, I want to take a moment to speak and encourage us all in our self-esteem.

Did you know that many people do not think well or favorably of one's self!! Worldwide, and I'll say it again: Worldwide, 85% of the population suffers from low self-esteem. We have all been given a gift from God and a purpose for our lives. You are not taking up space on this planet until you die. You are designed to impact the world and the people in your circle of influence.

There is ONLY, I repeat, only one of you out of 8 billion people on Earth. For those who are believers, the Word of God tells us who we are: Blessed in the city and Blessed in the field. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. If He is for us, then who can be against us!! I can go on and on about how God sees you. So, since Spring has sprouted and flowers are blooming, may your self-esteem begin to bloom with a positive attitude. May you look in the mirror and know that you are human and will make mistakes but overall smile. Please do not rob us of your gift and purpose because of your past or what others may have said to cast doubt.

I once heard a quote that helped me build more self-esteem in my life. I hope it will ignite a fire within you and help you to do the same.

We Go The Extra Mile

This month is pouring red with love symbols, from red rose petals to chocolate-covered strawberries and Valentine's parties. When someone receives a gift wrapped with a red bow, it usually spells out the essential February theme: Love.

But John 3:16 tells us that Christ gave the ultimate love letter to the world. Now, in my opinion, that's some real love. One of my love languages is acts of service. Nothing spells out love for me more than knowing that I'm into someone (my wife) and that she is just as much into me. I've told her this many times over the course of our marriage.

There's a song by Marvin Gaye titled "I Want You" that's an anthem for so many relationships in marriage. It's a blessing to know that with over 8 billion people on Earth, there's someone who wants you just as much as you want them. That's the kind of love I'm trusting Christ Jesus to help me keep and give to my wife until the day I die.

Even before I got married, it was and still is a wonderful feeling to know that God is not only God but also a loving Father in Heaven. He says, "He will never leave or forsake you!" It feels good to be loved and choose to love in return. I'm here to tell you that I love the Lord and am so thankful that He allowed me to experience love from my wife, daughters, mom, family, friends, and clients of JIFE Luxury Car Service.
