Taco time! Sculpin fishing has been excellent. The flashy rubber lures in with pink, red or white have been doing very well!

We've got a halibut derby leader! Jerry Vhynis with a solid 19lber caught on the ! Jerry bought the $5.00 ticket into the derby on an open party trip! Today's halibut drift trip aboard the had 4 other halibut in the mix!! We're hoping to keep the ball rolling and encourage anglers to buy in on their 3/4 day or 1/2 day trip. Here's the proof that you never know when you're going to get the lucky bite!

Some quality sculpin being caught on the 3/4 day trips. We recommend picking up a few rubber lures from the office in the morning along with some 1/2 and 3/4 or lead heads.

Happy New Year and hello 2025!

With the new year we are now in the closed season for all rockfish species , including lingcod. Rockfish will reopen on April 1, 2025.

Sculpin, whitefish, halibut, kelp bass and sand bass are all still in play and legal for take. Sheephead is currently CLOSED until March 1st.

For full DFW regulations we encourage you to check their website and also remind you to make sure your fishing license is current and not expired!

After tomorrow we will shift into sculpin and whitefish mode. Having some twin tail rubber lures like the in your box along with some 6-8oz sinkers would be a good call.

Come get em while you can!! The rockfish have been biting well and the season closes end of December! The San Mateo tapped into these nice vermilion rockfish with their charter group! See you before Wednesday!

Our 2025 halibut derby kicks off 1/1/25! First drift trip is Friday 1/3 departing at 6:00am! Also remember you can buy in on any local 1/2 day or 3/4 day for $5.00!

Conditions were perfect for the deep water rockfish game today aboard the Sum Fun. Anglers used both live anchovy and 200g-300g jigs to catch their limits of rockfish.
21 anglers 210 rockfish

The Sum Fun had excellent fishing for their 3/4 day anglers today. 16 anglers went home with 160 rockfish. Landing regular Peggy Stein shows off her haul of bank rockfish and chilipepper rockfish at the fillet board after putting in good work in the deep water.
