Dana Point and Dana Hills High School have a rare alliance to fight drug abuse: Mike Darnold. The city pays him, and he works from the high school. Every student has his cellphone number and can count on him for help. Other cities/school districts should take notice.

The fun Fall fishing continues in the shallows for the 1/2 day anglers! Both bass and sheephead have been the target species. Light line and finesse style fishing has been the ticket!

Our 3/4 day trips have been focusing on rockfish. Some days the deep 600' warer has been good. Other days the more shallow water zones have been the ticket. Either way you have to be here to catch yours!

The turned the first pic into the second pic! Nice bait making turned into some nice yellows for the Fury anglers earlier this morning. Dropper loops with squid are hard to resist for the San Clemente Island yellowtail.

Some solid Fall fishing for the charter group aboard the New San Mateo. Deep waters produced some great rockfish bites and a nice surprise yellowtail. Great fishing in beautiful weather today!

We just finished our 12th year of offering City of San Clemente - City Hall After School Kids fishing camp and wow what a wonderful group of kids we had and the fishing on the last night was epic,
Complete with root beer floats and Pizza from Capt Chad on the Clemente . We will start up again in April - classes are for five weeks and they are run through the City of San Clemente! BFT limits! Capt Marcus called in with a banger report on the 2 day trip! 68 quality bluefin tuna, 15 yellowtail and time left to fish! This Fall season has been amazing for the offshore 2 day trips. Nice job!

The deep water continues to impress! It was definitely quality over quantity today. Some stronger current made getting lines and bait to the fish a bit harder but anglers still managed some very nice fish. This lingcod went 15lbs and the bocaccio was right at 10lbs.

14lb lingcod from the 14 Mile Bank! Happy angler scored this quality ling yesterday aboard the Sum Fun. When you send the baits deep you just never know what's going to bite!

Some solid weekend 2day action for the .evike crew. Along with 35 solid bluefin tuna they managed another dozen solid 20-30lb yellowtail. Great job!

The New San Mateo fished Catalina Island yesterday on their 5am all day charter. The action was great with some very nice fish going home with their anglers. Make some weekend trips plans to come catch yours!

More deep water rockcod for our 3/4 day anglers. Mixed bags consisted of chilis, bankies and bocaccio. Plenty of quality rockfish went home with our anglers.

It's definitely arm day when we get out in the deep water of the 14 Mile Bank. The rockcod fishing has been great and the quality of these rockfish has not disappointed! Both the live baits and the jigs are doing well for our anglers. 16oz sinkers and reels spooled with braided line have been key elements of success!

We don't generally see a lot of lingcod along our stretch of coastline so when we get one it's always a crowd pleaser! caught this one on their 3/4 day charter yesterday!

Water keeps cooling down but the bass keep biting! Light sinker setups and an anchovy for live bait has been a great combo for success!
