As the festive season wraps around us, let’s take a moment to reflect on a journey made over two thousand years ago. Joseph and Mary's voyage from Nazareth to Bethlehem stands timeless against the ages, a testament to perseverance and faith.

Nowadays, that same trek can be made in roughly 42 hours on foot, aided by modern roads, arduous slopes, and a constellation of towns, with digital maps to point the way. Yet, in their time, they faced perils that went beyond the physical toll: notorious thieves and harsh, biting weather that would chill anyone to their core, whipping winds and slicing cold, an invisible adversary to their humble quest.

I have personally been blessed to make this trip by motor coach and can not even begin to imagine what they endured.

Their provisions, meager as they were – a few morsels to stave off hunger, perhaps scarce means to ward off the chill of night – were a mere backdrop to their resolve.

This legendary passage is a profound echo of the season's spirit—hope and resilience cradled in the willing arms of faith. It's a narrative that invites us to reflect on our own blessings as we gather in the glow of comfort and joy that fills our homes today.

Another crazy weather day! We missed Key West yesterday because of the high winds of 40-50 knots per hour and rough water. We were rerouted yesterday to try and miss the bad weather. New port, Nassau this morning. The 7am docking this morning was impossible yet again, high winds and terrible swells caused all cruise ships to be cancelled from docking today. On to Bimini….

Well done JW Marriott, well done.

I arrived at the hotel late. Telvin (I hope I spelled that right) the Bellman was helping me with my luggage. My mobile room key would not show up on my app. He said let’s go to the front desk. At the front desk I was greeted by a Sefan.  He was so nice and a happy to be at work person too! I told him I was having trouble with my mobile key. He smiled and said that I had been selected as the ultimare VIP of the day. They upgraded me to a newly renovated corner suite. The room had one of the best views of the bay, and a sitting area that went directly to the pool. Sefan handed me two complementary bottles of water and wished me a good evening. Telvin patiently waited well I checked in. He helped me to my room with my luggage and showed me all the amenities including how to use the TV.

Sefen and Telvin thank you for your great service and kindness!

This is a beautiful property!

Who else see’s the airplane! Sooo I might be a little sleep deprived. Last night (early this morning) I locked my car in my garage when I got home from work. Atleast I brought the keys in with me. Then, this morning ( still needing sleep) I though an airplane had landed in the neighbors field.

Update on ETIAS

The launch of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) has been pushed back from mid-2024 to roughly May 2025. The postponement is due to another such delay in the launch of the Entry/Exit System (EES), another European Union border security measure.

Today was a day that reminded me there is NOTHING that equals up to human touch and kindness. In a world of Artificial Intelligence, Robots, computers, etc… People is what it is about.

A few years ago our agency was the recipient of a Power Of the Partnership Award with Travel Leaders. While it was meaningful at that time, today it became even more special!

A HUGE SHOUTOUT to Michelle Scales with Delta Vacations! A client had a pharmacy issue and didn’t know until getting to the airport. We came up with a plan but we needed a reliable person to help in Atlanta to make this work. I reached out to my friend and BDM with Delta Vacations that lives in Atlanta. I needed a courier and I needed it quick!!! I called her for recommendations and she said I am your courier! (Jo Ann was not booked with Delta Vacations either.) Michelle went to the drugstore in Atlanta, picked up needed medicine and proceeded to the Atlanta Airport.

I’ll save the details in between but Michelle met Jo Ann at her gate!

Again, NOTHING will EVER replace human touch and kindness! As well as the Power of the Partnership.
