We recently visited the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, which runs until May 27th. The gardens and displays were amazing, as usual, and I can only imagine the amount of effort that goes into keeping them looking so good.
Outdoor dining for 10 is now available with 2 tables, 8 dining chairs, and 2 reclining chairs. Non-breakable tableware includes plates, bowls, glasses, serving bowls, and water pitchers, allowing you to eat al fresco in comfort.
Daylight saving time began in the early hours of this morning in Florida.

Did you know that from our pool deck you can see the NASA rockets once they have launched from Kennedy Space Centre? This is last nights launch of Dragon’s eighth operational human spaceflight mission (Crew-8) to the International Space Station.

There are 2 restaurants within just a few minutes of our house at Posner Park or Championsgate Village.
Disney recently announced that as part of Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebrations they would return Soarin' Over California for a limited time starting September 22nd replacing Soarin' Around the World.
Soarin' Over California was the first film shown when Soarin' opened in Epcot on June 17th, 2016 and if I am honest is my all time favourite.
You see the magnificent sites and landscapes of the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa Valley, Malibu Beach, Downtown Los Angeles, Yosemite Falls and many more.
My most vivid memory was the scent over the Valencia orange groves, the jet fighters and of course the golf ball.
All I can say when we rode it last week it didn't disappoint and it was just magical.

The Strawberry farmers have been busy getting their fields ready for planting over the last few weeks. I can’t wait to go Strawberry picking again in February next year
A wonderful start to the day, sitting on the pool deck and watching the sunrise ……….. Perfect.
Yesterday evening due to being Disney Annual Passholders we had the opportunity to experience the new Moana’s Journey of Water at Epcot.
It opens to all guests later in October but appears that you will need to join a virtual queue.
It is a walk through experience . Here is the video I took but be aware you could get wet.😄😄

Pool deck has been repainted, lounger cushions re stuffed.
September is a great time to visit, long sunny days, lower humidity but still around 90F.
Now the work starts for us, power washing the pool deck , repainting, cleaning all the chairs and taking the pool furniture cushions to be restuffed ……… all in a days work for a Villa owner
The main project for this year was for the pool to be resurfaced and new tile installed. It has been fascinating to watch the work being completed over the last 2 weeks. Today we can finally swim in the pool again😀.

Finally a winter full of warm sunny days and dazzling blue skies comes to an end. Florida we have loved every minute of our winter in the sun.
We left the UK back in December with snow on the ground at Manchester Airport and arrived home to yet more snow.
We have spent time with all our family, put a Christmas Tree up in 70 degree weather, the mischievous elves also found their way as well, had a snowball fight in Florida before Christmas Dinner ( who knew you could buy freezer boxes full of real snowballs…… only in Florida!!).
Then in January we had the Run Disney Marathon weekend with our daughter running her 4th D***y challenge (5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon on consecutive mornings) and I completed my first half marathon.
We have visited many places we haven’t been before as well as the usual Disney theme parks. This was all in between the work we did at the house; painting, power washing, new lounge furniture, new glass mosaic tile back splashes in the kitchen, landscaping parts of the garden, replacing pool screens, full inventory check, full spring clean, replacing worn and damaged items and did I mention painting ( there was lots of painting)! Plus the everyday jobs we always do on every visit.
Sunshine View is now ready to welcome our 2023 guests and we hope you all have a fantastic time.

The 2023 Flower and Garden Festival opened on 1st March and runs until 5th July, with living displays of Disney characters, a butterfly house and delicious food.
So whilst running between Guardians of the Galaxy, Test Track, Soarin and all the other experiences Epcot has to offer take time to appreciate the beautiful gardens.
We have been busy whilst we have been in Florida. Mike has done a fantastic job installing glass mosaic tiles to create a back splash on both kitchen walls.
It did take a few journeys to Floor & Decor to find the right tiles, a new tile cutter and some very precise tile cutting from Mike.
I think you would agree it just adds the finishing touch and matches perfectly with the decor in the kitchen area.
Our new family room furniture, combining modern with comfort and style.
An ideal area to sit and relax after visiting the Parks and watch the 75inch TV.

If you are looking at spending some time in St Petersburg the Sunken Gardens are a relaxing couple of hours.
They opened in 1935 as Turners Sunken Gardens. In 1903 , the 4 acre property was purchased by George Turner Sr. He drained a shallow lake, which had filled an ancient sinkhole and dropped 15ft below street level to provide a rich soul to grow exotic plants and fruits from all over the world.
For those if you that aren’t Theme Park fanatics and want to see a different side of Florida. Take a look at Bok Tower Gardens.
Just 22 miles away in Lake Wales (take US27 South), the historic gardens are open daily from 8am to 6pm. The Singing Tower & Carillon are not to be missed and there are concerts at 1 & 3pm.
The gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. and are a mix of native & exotic plants that thrive in a humid environment.
There is even a children’s garden that will keep younger members of your party busy.

All of our guests have access to the WestHaven Clubhouse and it is great news that the gym has just reopened after being fully refurbished with new decor, flooring and lighting.
All of the equipment is brand new and it is now open from 5am for any early birds who want to get in a training session before visiting the Attractions.
The villa is looking great in the winter sunshine, ready for our 2023 guests.

Our first visit to Florida was way back in 1983 and the Sunshine State soon became our annual holiday destination offering everything that a young family could want.
