An evening of fun as we stroll through the town of Davidson and hear spooky stories and history of this wonderful town that is over 176 years.The stories also include some of the surrounding areas.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. Because of medical reasons I will be closing the Ghost Walk of Davidson down. It has been wonderful getting to meet all of the wonderful people that have joined me over the last 8 years to take the walks. I loved getting to each and every one of you and wish that this was a different post that I was writing. I thank each and every one of you for joining me on the walks. Those that braved the hot and humid Carolina nights with all of the mosquito or for the unexpected extremely cold nights and each and every other night in between. To those that shared their stories with me and the photos that people would share on the walks. I will miss most of all getting to know those new people that I met on each walk and all of those that joined me again and again doing the walks over and over. I am putting the walk up for day sale and if there is someone that is interested in taking it over please contact me by phone or through my personal email account. 704-928-5452 or [email protected]. I would be more than happy to talk with anyone that is serious about taking over the walk.

If you see further post from the Ghost Walk of Davidson I hope that it means that someone has decided to take over where I left off and want to carry on telling the tales of Davidson and the surrounding area. Including the history of the town and the college itself.

Leaving the walks behind is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Eight years ago it was a dream that I had been working on for several years come to life. But sometimes good things have to come to an end. I never would have believed that in just in that short of a time I would have reached almost 1000 followers.

Again I thank you all so much for your support and love and I hope to see you around town. Who knows maybe we will run into one another on another walk in Davidson if someone takes it over. I hope you will continue to support the businesses in Davidson.

Hi everyone. I am so sorry that it has been so long that I have posted. Back on March 17, 2017 I was involved in a car accident when I was doing 55mph and a woman pulled out in front of me. I injured my knees and had to have surgery on one of them.

I was getting better and thought I would be able to do some walks this summer but my knee has not healed as quickly as I would have hoped. Also during this time the neuropthy that I have had in my feet since I had chemo back in 2016 has gotten worse.

I am working on finding a solution for the pain in my feet and hands and continue to help in the healing process of my knee.

Right now however I just don't think I can do the walks. Even though there is not that much walking involved for me to stand for 2 hours would be very painful.

What I truly hope is that I will have found some kind of relief by October 2017. I don't have any dates written down yet, but that is my plan. I have so missed meeting new people and sharing my stories and history of the town of Davidson. And I have really missed getting to see those that have been on the walk before that wanted to do it again.

I hope that many of you will turn out in October and that we can have fabulous walks that month and I will do as many as people want to do. if you have a particular date that you would like to take the walk that month please send me an email to [email protected] I really, really look forward to doing the walks again and meeting everyone and seeing old friends. Hi everyone! Well the time is here.. I am going to schedule our first walk of 2017! We will be having a walk on Friday March 10th at 8pm. Please note the change in time. I think this new time will work out so much better, especially in the summer. We will begin in the same place and walk north. If there is interest I will schedule a walk for Saturday night also. Hi everyone! Well we are getting close to starting the 2017 season. The start times for the walks will change to 8pm this will be great in the summer also, allowing more time for the weather to cool down. We will be walking both Friday and Saturday nights this week . The 4th and 5th of November 2016. The walks wil begin at 7pm from in front of the Soda Shop. These may be the last walks for the 2016 season. If you have a larger group that would like to go out you can however call me and see if we can't work something out. We will be having one more walk this month. It will take place on Halloween night , October 31,2016 at 7 p.m. I do ask that you call and make reservations for this night. We will be having walks on the first weekend of November and these may be the last walks we have for this year. So please join us in one of the upcoming 3 walks we have planned. We will be having a walk both Friday and Saturday nights the 28th and 29th of October. I would like anyone that will be joining the walk on Friday the 28th that there is an event going on in downtown Davidson that night. They are having their annual Halloween march which goes down Main St right past the Soda Shop. The walk is just about over at 7pm but sometimes there are still a lot of people in the area at that time. This is a very well loved event for the town. Because of the march parking might be much more difficult to find. There is parking on the road behind the Soda Shop and along the road down Concord Rd. Please call me if you are wanting to go on the Ghost walk of Davidson on Friday night but you are being held up because of parking or traffic and I will be happy a few extra minutes for you. To make reservations or any other questions that you might have about the walk call 704-928-5452. We will also being having a special Monday night walk on the 31st.

We are planning two Ghost Walks this weekend, both Friday and Saturday, October 21st and 22nd. We'll be meeting in front of the Soda Shop at 104 S. Main St. at 7 pm. On-street parking is limited and often filled with restaurant patrons so get there early to find parking. There is a free parking lot behind the Soda Shop accessible one street back from Main St. The Ghost Walk is $10 for adults and children ages 7-12 are $5. Cash only please. Children under age 7 are free. Hope to see you there!

Attention.....Attention...... There is a walk set to take place on Friday night the 7th of October, 2016. They are calling for rain but if we are lucky the weather guessers will be wrong. There are only a few spaces remaining for this walk so you need to get your reservations in quickly if you would like to go with us. I am setting a limit of 25 people to go on the walk so that everyone will enjoy themselves. In the past I have taken much larger groups but I don't feel as if it was as much fun for everyone.
Other walks that I have planned this month will be on October 21,22, 27,28, 29, 30, 31. If you have a large group that would like to go on a date not listed please contact me at 704-928-5452 and we will see what we can do. This is also the number to contact me to make reservations. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Ginny......The price of tickets is $10 for adults $5 for children 7-12 anyone under 7 years old is free. At this time I can only accept cash. All walks will begin at 7pm. The walks will take place as long as it is not raining. We will begin the walk in front of the Soda Shop.
Please note that parking in Davidson has become a little tricky with all the new restaurants that have opened in the past year. If there is no parking on the Main Street there is additional parking behind the Soda Shop and on the road behind the Soda Shop. If you are running late please contact me and let me know and I will wait and begin the walk until everyone with a reservation has arrived. Please allow extra time to find parking.

I'm BBAaaaccckkk! Yes the time is here to start the walks again. I have gotten a medication that seems to be working. I can't walk as fast as like but that will have to just be dealt with. I am planning on starting the walks again next weekend August 19,2016 at 7pm. You can call 704-928-5452 to make reservations. I have also decided that even though I have been doing this for 6 years I am not going to raise the price. So Adult tickets are $10 and children are $5 it is still cash only and you just pay when you get there. So please everyone hope for clear skies and I hope to have many people join me for this most awaited return to do the walks. I sure have missed doing the Ghost Walk of Davidson. Hope to see you out next weekend, if I get enough interest I will walk both Friday and Saturday nights.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know I haven't disappeared. Unfortunately I have developed toxic Neuropathy from the chemo treatments that ended in April. This is making it hard for me to walk and stand for any length of time. I am trying different medications hoping that one of them will work. As soon as I get some relief I will start the walks again. Thank you all for the messages I have received. Please stay tuned and hopefully I will be back very soon.

I haven't posted in a very long time thought now was a good time to give an update. The Ghost Walks of Davidson will hopefully resume in July 2016. I have just finished chemo and still have to have surgery on June 7th, but this surgery should not be as hard as the first. Hope to be back on my feet by the beginning of July so that I can start the 6th year of the Ghost Walk. Keep your eyes open for upcoming post.

Hi everyone. I haven't made a post in a while so I thought I would give an update. Half way through all my treatments and will finish hopefully by the end of April. If things go well which I hope they will,I have to have one more surgery in May. As soon as I recover from that I hope to start the walks again. I sure do miss all the walks and meeting all the new people. Just keep your eyes here for when we will start again. I am really looking forward to getting back to some kind of normal life. Well I am done with radiation. I will be getting 4 months of chemo starting in the not too distant future. Right now my I am just very tired and weak. Almost half way so we are getting there. Ginny

Hi everyone just wanted to make a quick update. I have gotten half way through radiation and it hasn't been too terrible. I am just extremely tired all the time.. Unfortunately because of this I am not going to be able to do any walks until I am finished with the treatments. I will post something again around the beginning of December and let everyone know how things are going then. I do still have 4 months of chemotherapy that I have to do after this so I am just going to have to wait until they begin to see if I can do a few walks on my off weeks. Thanks to everyone for your patience and I hope to be able to walk a few times in the coming months. Just keep an eye here on Facebook and I will let you know as soon as I think I can do a walk.
