Sadly we have cruddy clay soil in most places here on the farm. This week we Spent 2 days tilling the garden, cleaning up compost from hay bales and manure in the pasture, and in the chicken coop, laying down cardboard, and covering it with all of the manure and compost.
We should be growing a whole lot better garden next year!!

And thats a wrap on this years garden. We even found a hidden pile of eggs from the darn chickens!

Did you know that Scottish Highland Cows eat poison Ivy?? I know amazing right!!

LOTS of new babies on the way in the next few months. Only 2 open mamas who just calved in the last couple months and 1 heifer who slipped her calf that we have been awaiting. Gotta say we are pretty darn happy for having 2 new bulls under the age of 2 working for us!! Soon we will have the first of our mini highparks on the ground and thats going to be a whole new experience for us!

BIG changes to our breeding program this year! We have replaced our beloved dun bull Sledge with a Gorgeous Silver boy- Slade and a High Park bull - Odie. Both are puppy dog friendly and spoiled rotten!! New babies from these boys will start hitting the ground in May!!

Baby Calder is available after weaning!

Diesel is SO JEALOUS and thinks he has to keep a distance between the cows and mom when we chore. Silly dog! This right here shows why we have Scottish Highlands. Any other bull would have been in that seat after the dog!
