More progress is being made daily on the South Side Renovation as well as our Seawall Project. Crabby Joe's is also making progress on finishing their parking lot, now that their seawall is complete. Many projects along the beach are being completed and the area is coming back to life.

FLORIDA FALL FRONT! 🍂 First of the season will drop temps and humidity across *most* of the state Sunday into early next week. Even mornings in the 40s for northern Florida! Only a small difference in Southwest Florida, but hey, we'll take it!

This will take some of you back in time!

Here's a unique idea for a party.

We are making more progress on the resort, as our seawall will be getting the concrete cap soon. The South side renovation contractor has poured the second floor balconies. Before you know it, they will be working on the 3rd floor pour. Our pool contractor is in the process of ordering pool equipment and if all goes well, they will start sometime around October 1st. by installing the pool pilings first.
Our neighbors at Curran Shores South have their seawall and their concrete cap will also be installed soon.
Crabby Joe's has made fantastic progress on their seawall and parking lot and it looks to be almost totally finished. We know that Crabby Joe's is looking for new team members, so their opening will be coming soon.
More updates to come as time moves along.

From our friends at Crabby Joe's
Show them some love and spread the word, so that they will have the staff for their opening.

More pictures of the seawall construction and building renovation. The good news is that we did not receive much from Hurricane Idalia. The hurricane brought winds in upwards of 50 mph, not much rain and higher tides, but did not do any damage to the beach. Thank goodness!!!
Sunglow contractors continue to make progress, as sandblasting is being performed over the next week to the South side and more sand / backfill will be brought in for the seawall.

Our new seawall is coming along.
Maybe just in time for hurricane season?.....😁
There is still a lot of work to be performed, as the wall will need to be set to grade, backfilled and tied back with an anchor system.
More updates will be posted as we have more progress to show.

Our Friends at Crabby Joe's are also making great progress in securing the pier and parking lot for their future opening. Go to their page and show them some support!
UPDATE — We’re going vertical! Here’s a look at the new seawall! Still a bunch left to do with utilities and then work out on the pier, but we’re seeing the progress finally! We’re still unsure on a reopening date but we’re hopeful for late summer / early fall. 🤞❤️🦀

Our South Side Renovation and Seawall Contractors are making progress to the resort. The owners of Sunglow are spending in upwards of 6 mil to make this a better place for all of our owners and guests. We will post more progress pictures as they become available.

Happy 4th of July to everyone. Please be safe this holiday and remember that safety and consideration of others is very important.

Dear Sunglow Fans,
Memorial Day is coming Monday. It seems that the meaning of this holiday has - like many others - become lost in a plethora of sales, "the beginning of summer" parties, end of school, etc. We will be doing some of those things too, but let's take a few minutes to consider what this is REALLY all about.
Originally known as Decoration Day and observed on May 30 - at the outset businesses did not have sales - rather, they CLOSED and communities turned out to place flowers on the graves local soldiers in a solemn remembrance of their sacrifice to protect the freedoms of others.
Memorial Day, as Decoration Day camel to be known, became a Federal holiday in 1968, and the date was changed to the last Monday in May in order to provide a three-day weekend for Federal employees.
Unfortunately, the parades, placing of flowers, and the recognition of what this day is all about seems to be fading, I would like you to pause to remember and give thanks for those who have fallen - and those who today put their lives on the line for the rest of us.

For those of you who want to know what a RIP Current looks like, this picture is a great example.
If you get caught in a RIP Current, please remember to swim parallel to the shore line in order to escape its pull and save your life.
From all of us at Sunglow Resort, be careful and swim safely.

1800's shipwreck found right here just North of Sunglow Resort in Daytona Beach Shores! 😮
Hurricanes that hit our coast have uncovered what could be an important piece of history. Between Hurricanes lan and Nicole, about 4 to 8 feet of sand elevation was washed out, giving us an outlook of the presumed shipwreck.
Experts believe the ship was likely a trading vessel from the 1800's.
