Hurricane Milton may have dealt another blow, but we are up and running with many guests checking in daily.

As you drive around town, there are many areas without power, street lights are out, signage is blown over, rooofing material is laying all over from damaged roofs and there are many piles of debris throughout the residential areas from the flooding and wind damage.

Biketoberfest is still on for this year, however there are many flooded roads and road closures.

Here is a list of areas that are closed off.

The elevators are working again and the staff has done a great job in getting the resort cleaned up and open again late this afternoon.

Many owners are in the building and are in the process of cleaning up their units. This will be an ongoing process, along with all of the outdoor repairs.

Our roofing company will be here Monday to repair the roof and dry in the area that was torn off with the 120mph winds.

All owners and staff thank you for your patience during this difficult time.

Hurricane Milton Update........Sunglow Resort is still temporarily closed, as many owners are trying to get in to the building so they can clean up from any water intrusion.

Elevators are still non operational, as there has been electrical damage to the circuit boards.

Clean up of the parking lot, pool area, and surrounding common areas has been done by our landscape company and our maintenance team. The pool area was also cleaned by our pool contractor and pool pumps are operational again. Pool tables and chairs are being re-distributed to the pool deck.

Roof repairs still need to be done, as we lost a section of our roof that became a projectile that even damaged the building to the South of us.......pictures below. Our roofing contractor will be on site today to evaluate the repairs and get the roof dried in just a soon as they can get a crew on site.

Overall, we were very fortunate, as there are many buildings along A1A that are destroyed and are probably a complete loss.

Just so everyone knows, we are trying to get open asap for all owners and guests. Many repairs will have to be done after we re-open, so expect noise from construction crews when staying or visiting Sunglow.

At this time, we must announce that Sunglow Resort will remain closed until further notice due to the hurricane damage. ☹️

Our staff is busy taking care of their own property after the storm. We will report of any damages, once we have the opportunity to check out the resort. In the interim, the county has issued the following curfew.

NEW FOR THURSDAY: A curfew within the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Volusia County will take effect at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, and end at 5 a.m. Friday, October 11.

The curfew is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community during Volusia County’s Hurricane Milton’s recovery efforts.

The curfew does not apply to the following, provided they have identification if stopped by any law enforcement personnel:

- Regular members of law enforcement bodies

- Regular employees of businesses, industries, or government entities traveling for their jobs

- All emergency workers

Any person who knowingly violates this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of up to $500 and/or 60 days jail.

Not much change, except for the ICON (German) model moved north and the Euro AI moved south (but that model is the 06z so it would not be a good comparison to the others which are 12z models (12z is 8am, 06Z is 2am)
