Rainy day = baking day. The cookie jar was full this morning! A sourdough loaf and pepperoni rolls rounded out my flour usage for the day. Kids running in and out of the kitchen all day to grab treats made it a great day!

Welcome, Force of Nature Brewing! Just one block West of Grandma B’s House in historic downtown De Soto.

We are thrilled to finally be able to share the location of De Soto's FIRST Brewery: the historic "Grandpa's Garage"!
Force of Nature Brewing is grateful to get to take roots in this Iconic De Soto building. "Grandpa's Garage" is known by many as Dean Weller's place. Dean was an artist and car lover and he filled the garage with Model A's of his own design and construction. We are so grateful to be able to use this amazing space to bring De Soto its first Brewery and a new Restaurant!

Work inside the garage has been underway for a while but soon we will get to move in and start brewing!

Concordia, Kansas didn’t have a CostCo, but my Grandma B’s best friend Helen was the equivalent of the CostCo cake box. Just show up at her house, let yourself into the kitchen through the back door, and draw out your cake order on a notepad from the fridge. Whatever you could dream up, she could make. 😀

To order a cake from Costco, you must put your request in its "mystery cake box." Insider's reporter tried it, and has a newfound faith in the store.

A surprise snowfall occurred on the waning days of February, but our newly installed stair treads proved effective in preventing slips and falls. Sadly, the crocus blooms didn’t last through the frost.
