FACT or FOLKLORE - "The Drowning Pool" Mackinac Island, Michigan

In the 1700s and early 1800s, seven women were accused of being witches. Back in those days, one of the methods used for determining if someone was a witch or not was to tie rocks to their feet and throw them into water to see if they would float or not.

If they sank, they were deemed innocent.

The seven accused women were thrown into a lagoon on the island between Mission Point and downtown Mackinac - and all of them sank and drowned.

Legend says the women haunt the waters to this day. Visitors report seeing mysterious splashing, shadows and dark figures floating above the surface.

Each year on May 3rd National Paranormal Day people who believe in paranormal activities are encouraged to get together and share their experiences with each other.

A few weeks ago, we revisited a site we had previously investigated. Apparitions have been reported moving and lingering behind windows. One of the employees felt compelled to share his experience with us. While working alone during the midnight shift, he heard what appeared to be footsteps ascending the stairs. This is what he recorded.

Met some interesting individuals at the recent Eloise Asylum Paranormal Lockdown. Although we cannot confirm that what we recorded was paranormal, we can state that we had a very similar encounter there in 2020. While investigating at the end of the hall on the 5th flr we caught the sound of something slamming. This sound is very similiar to what was heard by Meltdown Wrif and Eloise Paranormal host "Allison". (excuse me for the heavy breathing) Visit Eloise Asylum on Facebook for that video.
