Day 1 Mt Everest bc trek: Our adventure started with the scariest helicopter ride to get to the trailhead. We started in Kathmandu and flew to Surke. Our original plan was to take a van to Ramechhap and fly to Lukla but the insane weather halted flights for almost a week. While the ride was so scary due to the weather, we were so lucky to get to another part of the trail. While it added on almost 1/2 a day of hiking, we were so excited to get our boots on the ground. The trail was filled with lush greenery and was incredibly humid. We hiked into the night and arrived at our tea house where we had our first of many delicious meals and were greeted by the sweetest owner.

I won the lottery. Angels Landing in Zion National Park was incredible. I was on the first shuttle at 6am and the third person the reach the top. Having this iconic spot all to myself was so lucky. Felt so good pushing the body to climb up the steep switchbacks as fast as I could to get these views.

Hey from Luxor Egypt! Today we explored the Karnak and Luxor Temples. So amazing to see the sites dating back thousands of years. Very different from the Luxor in Vegas lol.

Country #20: Israel. We had a very memorable and inspiring couple days in Israel. After crossing the border from Jordan, we went to Jerusalem. Seeing many holy sites and the markets were all amazing. Then we travelled to Tel Aviv for an awesome day on the beach before we head home tonight!

Unbelievable day exploring one of the 7 Wonders of the World! Petra didn’t disappoint. The archaeological sites were amazing and the hiking was what I imagine Mars to be.

Sometimes you have to concede to the trail. Our day 1 was an absolute beast. We hiked basically two days worth in one, while carrying full packs when most have donkeys.

At the end of the day we were beyond exhausted. It was a struggle to cook dinner and filter water. We woke up the next day so soar and spent. After walking for a just a few minutes to start the next day it was obvious that we wouldn’t enjoy the best section of the trail in that condition. We swallowed our pride and took a rest day. And wow that made all the difference. We slept, played cards, and recovered our bodies after too strenuous of a day.

This sunset capped off a great day and lesson out on the trail. Never be too prideful to ignore what your body is telling you.

After the Mirador de las Torres waited the steep ascent another 900 feet to the Siula Pass. Sitting at 4800 meters, or almost 16k feet, the views of the cordillera Huayhuash were amazing. So cool returning to this epic spot again.

Since backpacking around Peru for 2 months in 2019, I’ve dreamed of being back at this Mirador. I still can’t believe after just three years I got to return to my favorite place in the world.

The Huayhuash Circuit is a beast. Just about everyone hiking it does it with a guide and a herd of donkeys. And for good reason. The high altitude and gnarly terrain are not for beginners. and I did it on our own. Climbing mountains with full packs almost 17k feet high pushed the limit. But now when I need to return to this happy place in my mind, it’s a little easier.

Walking towards paradise. It took an entire 10 hours of hiking to reach the Kalalau Beach. But once we got there all of the pain and soreness melted away. At least until we had to turn back the next day.

Once again, the Kalalau Trail blew my mind with its beauty and thoroughly tested my trail grit. 22 Miles with 10,000 feet of gain over just two days. Incredibly beautiful but strenuous hike out on Kauai’s Kalalau Trail.

Returning to the trail after a couple years definitely filled the belly with butterflies. Once again I was so lucky to have pretty perfect conditions. This trail often closes due to all the flash flooding of the rivers. It can be a very dangerous hike if the weather gets nasty, as it does frequently.

Most people split the 11 miles to the beach in two days. Fewer do it it one day. Even fewer go back all the way the next day. It was so much fun though, so lucky to get to go to the most beautiful place in the world again.

Last time I went to Patagonia I didn’t soak in the amazing views from the road outside Torres del Paine National Park. We pretty quickly drove off after hiking the W Circuit to our next location. This time was different. It had to be the most beautiful drive I’ve ever had.

Instagram can make me feel sometimes like if I don’t get the perfect conditions at a major spot that I’ve really missed out. I’m trying to change that about myself and stress less about having the perfect conditions for the perfect picture.

When we got to the towers of Torres del Paine I desperately was hoping for a clear view of the towers. It didn’t happen. But still there was so much beauty around I’m just so grateful to have been in that divine place at all. Definitely a reminder to myself to cherish everything and stop sweating over getting perfect conditions all the time. Because it’s just a recipe for disappointment.

Returning to the Mirador de las Torres felt like stepping into a dream. The amount of times I’ve day dreamed about being back there since I was last there in 2017 is beyond counting.

When we reached the top it was really cloudy I didn’t expect to see the towers at all. After maybe one minute, the sun rose over the edge of the basin surrounding the towers and blasted by sunlight. Then a 🌈 appeared! Just magical.

One 🚆 three ✈️ ✈️ ✈️ and a five hour drive on a manual transmission 🚗 for the first time.. all for 24 hours inside the most incredible national park in the world.

As we drove closer and closer to the park, I was honestly like a giddy kid about to open Christmas presents. High on adrenaline, I couldn’t believe I was returning to the place I thought maybe I’d return to in retirement.

Our first stop was to hike out to the Mirador Cuernos. A 4 mile roundtrip hike that leads to this beautiful vista of the park.

Most people, including me, just do the popular O or W treks inside the park. Hot take: the views of the park are actually better from the outside of the park. You get a much prettier elevated perspective and can really see the mountainscape.

More pics to come from this epic weekend adventure!

Some people close down bars, I close down National Parks.

Day 2 in Costa Rica featured two epic waterfalls, a double rainbow, and a blissful waterside PB&J.

Rincon de la Vieja National Park was so much fun to explore. We hiked over 8 miles, 2,500 ft of elevation gain over six hours. We were the very last people to leave the parking lot 🤣

Costa Rica Work-ation off to a super fun start. Did two day hikes in the Parque Nationale Tenorio. First was along the Rio Celeste which led to a beautiful lagoon and waterfall.

Next we hiked up in the jungle where they had hanging bridges hundreds of feet above the floor. We saw lots of monkeys 🙉.

Felt so good to finally get some hiking in!
