SEPT. 22, 2024 - You will be met in the morning at approx. 8 a.m. for your Half Day Athens City Tour to the Acropolis with R/T transfers to the hotel. This tour will introduce you to the most important sights of the city. You will see the temple of the Olympian Zeus, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Pan Athenaeum stadium.
SEPT. 23, 2024 - You will be met at your hotel and transferred by private car to the airport for your flight to Skiathos (economy class flight included in land package rate and based on OA 92 1:10 p.m. - 1:55 p.m.; flight includes one personal item, one carry on up to 8 kg and one checked bag up to 23kg). This is a must on the island of Skopelos! Easily visit all the famous beaches of the island with access to secluded beaches and caves not accessible by land. The skipper will skipper the boat and take you and your guests to all the best beaches and places to have a wonderful lunch or a snack. The Olympic 490SX is 16 Feet (4.90m). Welcome to the island of Skopelos. According to the legend, Skopelos was founded by Staphylos (Greek for grape), one of the sons of the god Dionysos and the princess Ariadne of Crete, is located in the Aegean Sea and belongs to the Sporades archipelago. Filled with dense forests, it is considered the greenest island in the Aegean. In ancient times Skopelos was called Peparithos. The renaming of the island to its current name, Skopelos, took place during Hellenistic times. On the north and east side of Skopelos the coasts are rocky, while on the south and west the slopes create the wonderful green and crystal blue beaches of the island. On the south side are most of the beaches that are "drenched" in green from the forest pine. Skopelos has the shape of a saxophone, with the "neck" pointing northwest, and the "bell" lying on the east. The second largest settlement is Glossa village situated on the northwestern tip of the island, just above Loutraki harbour. It is a tranquil beautiful village with traditional houses, worth visiting.
Suggestion for a "Mamma Mia Experience" or you can make your own itinerary:
Drive along the West coast of the island and then across to visit the beautiful Saint John’s Chapel also known as the MAMMA MIA wedding church. There you get some free time to walk up the 199 steps or to enjoy a soft drink in the nearby coffee place. Later you will learn about Skopelos virgin olive oil, making a short stop at the Stamatiou olive press. Our next stop is at Kastani beach for some relaxation. The final stop will be at Agnontas beach where you can swim in the crystal-clear waters or to enjoy lunch in one of the seaside taverns. Returning from this area we will see from some distance the cape of Amarantos, the so-called site of the 3 trees.

What To Expect From The New EU Registration Requirements For U.S. Travelers

While it’s not a visa, U.S. travelers will need to begin pre-registering for travel to 26 countries in Europe starting in 2021. Travel Agent spoke with Ryan Amizi, editor for etias.com, a website dedicated to spreading awareness regarding the new European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), to learn more on what to expect.

“To enter European member countries right now, [U.S.] travelers can just hop on a plane and go through customs,” says Amizi. “With ETIAS they need to be cleared to travel by applying at least 72 hours prior to boarding.”

The new rules apply to European Union (EU) countries that are part of the Schengen area, for travelers from the United States and other countries offering visa-free travel to Schengen members. There will be a 7 Euro per person processing fee, although processing will be free for travelers under 18.

While the minimum requirement for an ETIAS application is 72 hours in advance, Amizi advises travelers apply at least a week beforehand. “Processing should be instant, but if someone has a hit – say, their name matches someone on an Italian criminal database – it’s likely there will be some additional processing to see if this person is ok,” Amizi says.

Importantly, third parties – including travel advisors – will be able to fill out an ETIAS application on behalf of their clients. “They will need to disclose on the form,” Amizi says.

The new ETIAS was established last July to improve security following the introduction of similar programs in the United States and Canada.

“After the terrorist attacks in France and Germany over the past two years, they just want a better understanding of who’s entering their borders, and one area they looked at is visa-free travel,” Amizi says. “It’s reciprocating American and Canadian programs that are already in place.”

Finally, Amizi recommends those traveling in early 2021 apply well in advance. “There will be some hiccups as there always are when deploying systems like these.”
