Nordic and Dutch flavors have long thrived in the Catskills, and CAFE MUTSI, a new all-day café and natural wine bar in Andes, continues the tradition. Chef Nicole Bassis and her husband Raoul Koopman, a Holland native with Moroccan roots, focus on traditional family recipes such as Finnish Pulla cardamom buns and house-cured gravlax made with Isolation Proof Gin. Local dairy, poultry, and meat are central, and a shared heritage and landscape—from wild mushrooms to berries and crisp air—shape the cafe’s seasonal menu. From chanterelles to red currants, if it’s ripe and regional, it finds its way onto the plate.

Art, cheese, and wine! Visit Franklin, NY, for the opening of this wonderful show:

It’s finally Friday, which means only two more days until we reveal "Faces of Franklin" by Bruce Goddard Reception. Get out of the house and enjoy some art, music, cheese, and wine with the artist himself this Sunday, November 10, 2024, 2pm-6pm (band plays 2pm-4pm).

All are invited to the opening reception of “Faces of Franklin,” an exhibit of works by local artist Bruce Goddard, hosted by Good Taste Epicurean Market, 438 Main Street, Suite 6, Franklin, NY 13775 (building located behind LAVA atelier and Kabinett & Kammer).

A complimentary wine and cheese tasting will be offered to enjoy alongside the art. Those Darn Cats, a favorite local band, will be providing an ambiance from the Great American Songbook and favorite jazz standards from 2pm-4pm.

The exhibit will be on display November 10 – December 15, 2024.
