Life works in mysterious ways. The Seabourn has a area called the square where you can get coffees, teas, read, a book, converse, or look out the window. A few days ago when we were stopping at Provincetown I was reflecting on my childhood memories of P-town as I looked out the window and this handsome friendly gentleman ( ) .com was sitting there as I spoke to myself out loud. Yes, he did participate in the conversation and I later found out he was a comedian and that night's entertainer. We had subsequent conversations and he's a genuine intelligent gentleman- oh, and of course, very funny.
For me, good meaningful conversations on a ship, is as important than seeing the sights.
Thank you Ralph for the conversations and laughs.

Our first stop on Seabourn was Provincetown, MA, an old haunt of mine when I was a child, (My father was a fisherman who went to Provincetown on the full month in the summer months to fish off the beach for striped bass). The boat yard house is where he sold the fish. I distinctly remember the Penny Candy store and an old maritime store that sold army-navy surplus goods. P-town has always been a gay friendly community since the 50's (and possible earlier).
Visiting places long forgotten can be a highlight of a cruise itinerary. Certainly, has been mine.

As we left the Manhattan pier on Seabourn on our way to New England and Canada, I watched the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of LIberty.

Very belated photos and discussion of our first trip with the grandchildren with no parents. Four day Bermuda cruise out of Bayonne NJ in August,. The kids participated in rock wall climbing, cup cake making, trivia contests, and then we landed in Bermuda which is a beautiful island. We went to a sea glass beach where pirates had disposed of their bottle bottles in the 1800's. Went to the site of the Bermuda Triangle- remember when we had all those scares in the 1960's and 70's. Then we went to caves with stalagmites and stalalagcites. The kids and we were in awe of these formations of nature.
As an aside, traveling with grandchildren is one of memory making. Eating breakfast together has become a ritual between my grandson and husband. My granddaughter and I usually buy make-up.
Consider short 3-4 day cruises to start -for moments of joy,

Our next voyage, which will be a first for us, is a grandparents-grandchildren cruise. We are looking forward to this so that we can spend quality time with our grandkids. We already have signed them up for a cup-cake making class.
