WHY SHOULD I USE A TRAVEL AGENT WHEN I CAN JUST BOOK ON MY OWN?
One of the first questions people seeking travel ask themselves is why they should use a travel agent. Did you know that when you book a vacation directly with a vendor, you are paying for a service that you are not getting? What the WHAT?!?
Here’s the scoop:
🤯 All suppliers -Disney, Universal, cruise lines, all-Inclusive resorts, etc. build into their pricing a commission to pay travel agents. All of them! This means when you book on your own, you are paying for a service that you are not getting. The supplier keeps that commission while you plan your vacation on your own!
🤩 Best pricing-There are no fees or up-charges in utilizing my services. Better yet, we have relationships with several vendors that partner with certain resorts or airlines to bundle together packages or offer bulk pricing to get you a better deal then you will find yourself. Sometimes comes with perks/extras that no one else can offer and I don’t mean a gift card for booking which comes out of our pockets anyway!! I mean real/special perks
💲 Best pricing goes hand in hand with adding current promotions when applicable. I constantly monitor promotions and if eligible, I will automatically try to apply it to your current vacation package saving you money. That’s right! It’s my personal Oprah moment when I get to email guests with their unexpected savings.
☎️ When you book through me you have someone to make calls (and wait on hold) on your behalf, whether to apply a promotion, make changes or in case of an emergency. It is not uncommon for me to spend hours on the phone to help my guests, while they can relax and know that I am taking care of them. 3 hrs on one call just today!
🚢 🏰🎢🏝 Booking with a certified travel agent means you are getting advice from an expert, someone who specializes in your destination and can provide you with personalized recommendations, answer your questions AND will be your support during an emergency. Travel agents go through extensive training with EACH vendor that we book with, and most of the time we have first-hand experience and/or contacts at these destinations. I would say that’s better than information from a web search or a blog.
🤗 It’s personal! Booking through a travel agent means that you have an advocate on your behalf who cares about you and your family! You don’t have to call a vendor and explain yourself each time. I get to know you and your family and what it is you are looking for in a vacation and am here to help you have the most magical vacation possible.
🥰 When you book with a travel agent, you are supporting a small business...my small business.
As travel agents we don’t get a regular salary or pay check, we work only on commission and only get paid AFTER clients travel. (Which means we don’t get paid for any of work done when someone has to cancel their booking)
Anyone who is considering travel either domestically or internationally, please support your local travel agency, even if that isn’t me.
