Before I got into music & stuff, nobody got excited about my ideas, all I heard was “don’t talk about it be about it.” When I 1st started I heard, “you need to practice more.” After I became a professional, it turned into, “you gotta put your name out there so people will hear your stuff….throughout my career very few people applauded anything I’ve done. Why, because I had always surrounded myself with people I wanted to impress vs those who were already genuinely excited for me. Moral of the story is….be grateful for the small gatherings with meaningful guest, and stop worrying about massive events where only the guest list is looked at.
