When I walked into Sarah & Andrew’s wedding tent at Flying Diamond Ranch, my eyes went straight to the ceiling. There it was — the stunning hanging floral and lighting setup that aesthete_floral_atelier put together.

It was absolutely stunning; with its draping greenery and the wicker-like material of the lights, all highlighted by the intertwining of the string lights throughout the tent - it was as if the outdoors was delicately and intentionally brought inside the tent. It truly brought all of the elements of their decor together and throughout the night I made sure I photographed the event as fully as I could, all while trying to highlight this gorgeous hanging floral design. And it brought upon a desire to have more lovely hanging floral designs in the weddings I photograph.

So I’m curious: would you have a hanging floral design for your wedding? I know I would if I could get married again 🌿

When Joe first met Rachael, he thought, “she’s so pretty and probably out of my league,” as they stood in line at Dangerously Delicious Pies in D.C. Rachael remembers, “He seemed warm hearted and very different from the typical D.C. guy. He talked about empathy on our first date!”.

As creative souls, the two hosted a romantic and artistic wedding at the Denver Art Museum on a cloudy spring day in April. With Rachael’s gorgeous puff-sleeve dress and Joe’s classic black tux, the two brought the sophistication and style to their spring wedding day.

Sandra and Casey hosted a romantic and intimate brunch wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens, followed by a lively wedding reception with a larger group of loved ones at Blanc, Denver.

And let me tell you — brunch weddings are starting to be my new fave, especially if your whole wedding ends before 5 pm. It’s a rarity, for sure, but it’s unique, it’s different, and allows you to take advantage of beautiful locations in the summer without the deathly afternoon heat.

I’d say that’s a win-win.

“I can’t see anything I don’t like about you.”

I know this movie is pretty heartbreaking but ever since I first saw it back in 2010, I’ve been in love with Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind and I remain in love with it to this day.

It’s a fantastic film about love, memory, and loss. It’s about forgetting and erasing one’s memories to heal from a hard relationship but in the end, finding yourself back where you started, for better or for worse. It’s about finding the one you love and discovering, maybe, that you can’t see anything that you don’t like about them. 🖤

I’ll leave you with a poem I saw yesterday that felt very visceral. It’s by the talented Danielle Coffyn

“If Adam Picked the Apple”

There would be a parade,
a celebration,
a holiday to commemorate
the day he sought enlightenment.
We would not speak of
temptation by the devil, rather,
we would laud Adam’s curiosity,
his desire for adventure
and knowing.
We would feast
on apple-inspired fare:
tortes, chutneys, pancakes, pies.
There would be plays and songs
reenacting his courage.
 
But it was Eve who grew bored,
weary of her captivity in Eden.
And a woman’s desire
for freedom is rarely a cause
for celebration.
