San Simeon Bay / WR Hearst State Memorial Beach is 25 miles south of Treebones Resort and a really fun stop on the way up the coast or after touring Hearst Castle which is right across HWY 1. Hearst Winery has a gorgeous tasting room with a large outdoor seating area. The beach and pier are beautiful, and the water is often calm enough to kayak.
