We set off on an epic 140 camel caravan through the breathtaking Sahara, a once in a lifetime experience that felt totally surreal!⁠

Even better, these camels came from over 50 local families, directly supporting nearby communities and stimulating their local economy.⁠

Now it’s time for the big one - the Sahara Desert! 🏜️ Tonight, we’re taking on the sand dunes and chasing the sun with an epic sunset run. This is what R2A is all about! 🏃‍♂️⁠

Yesterday’s race was straight out of a movie - literally! We ran through stunning desert landscapes, making our way to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s been the backdrop for Gladiator, Ben Hur, and Game of Thrones. 🎬⁠

We started from a nearby town and raced toward this historic village, with an unforgettable finish line in one of Morocco’s most iconic locations! 🇲🇦⁠

Race 3 was an UNFORGETTABLE run through Imlil! 🏔️⁠
⁠
Day 4 took us to Imlil, the gateway to the Atlas Mountains, and WOW! This one was special! The scenery was jaw dropping as we ran through the town and surrounding foothills of North Africa's highest peak.⁠

Plus, the entire town came out - cheering, guiding runners through the streets, and welcoming us with open arms. 🇲🇦✨⁠

WOW! This one will be tough to beat. 🔥

Today, we took on the rolling desert trails of the Agafay, pushing through the heat and challenge, only to be rewarded with the most EPIC finish line - a piece of paradise with a pool surrounded by snow capped mountains. 🏔️

Casablanca, you were the perfect welcome to Morocco! 🇲🇦⁠

Today, we're leaving the city behind and heading south to the sunny beaches of Essaouira. ☀️⁠

This coastal gem is straight out of a postcard - fresh seafood, beautiful painted white houses, and the most stunning sunsets. ⁠
⁠
Oh, and did we mention? It's RACE DAY 1! 🔥 We're kicking things off with an epic beach run before soaking in one of the region's famous susets. ⁠

And to top it off? Dinner at an oceanfront restaurant with views straight out of Game of Thrones. ⚔️⁠

Last night, we officially kicked off this once in a lifetime adventure with an incredible welcome dinner, bringing together racers from all over the world! 🌍🏃‍♂️

We also had the honor of introducing the Moroccan team who will be guiding us for the next 8 days - led by Abdu, named one of the Top Mountain Guides in the World by Wanderlust Magazine in 2018. 🏔️

We are in the BEST hands with Abdu and his team. 🙌 You're not going to believe what we have in store for the next week!
