Welcome Week is a traditional time during the first week of the semester for first-year, transfer and/or commuter students to learn more about what the MSU Denver campus has to offer you and to strengthen your connections through events, co-curricular programs and networking.

Department of Art & Center for Visual Art are hosting an Art Making Happy Hour! 🎨
Mark your calendars for September 18th and October 16th! You will learn new techniques in the community with other creatives. For inspiration, you'll look to the multi-media works of Corey Pemberton from his exhibition "Piece by Piece" on view at CVA. We’re offering two sessions during this exhibition, sign up for one or both.
All levels welcome. Tickets required for each session: CVA Members - $15, General Public - $20.
VA's 965 Project Gallery presents Cultivating Threads of Memory, an exhibition featuring the work of Valerie C. White. Through her vibrant quilts, White weaves a story of the natural world and humanity's traditional and spiritual connections to its beauty. Curated by MSU Denver students Bridget Ebert and Alyssa Williams. 965 Project Gallery is a student-led space located within CVA providing immersive professional development opportunities to MSU Denver students.

The Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion will host a variety of events to engage our community, honor historical and contemporary accomplishments of Black folx, and amplify the voices and actions of those who continue to fight the roots of social injustices that Black folx face. To develop cultural competence and work towards representation for Black folx, while emphasizing that Black Lives Matter, we encourage all people from the community to attend our events and to engage in reflection, celebration, and open dialogue during this month.

Colorado Women to Watch features the work of Kim Dickey, Ana María Hernando, Maia Ruth Lee, Suchitra Mattai, and Senga Nengudi and is on view at CVA through October 21. These widely acclaimed artists have transformed CVA's galleries with works that break through boundaries, emphasize the strength of female artists, and reshape our perceptions of power. CVA welcomes Nora Burnett Abrams, Ph.D., Mark G. Falcone Director, MCA Denver, and artists from the exhibition for a conversation.

APIDA Heritage Month occurs every year during the month of May to celebrate, uplift, and educate others about the complex history and identities of those in the APIDA community. Due to the nature of our academic schedule, the CMEI recognizes APIDA Heritage Month during the month of April!
Through our events, we celebrate the vast diversity within the APIDA identity and bring to light issues that our community is experiencing in order to grow and heal.

In recognition of Native Indigenous Heritage Month in November, the Native Indigenous Student Alliance is in partnership with locally based organizations and departments on the Auraria Campus to host a variety of events to educate the campus on issues that are pertinent to the Native Indigenous communities.
Hosted annually at Auraria Campus, Fall Fest brings together the campus community. Come out today and enjoy some of Denver’s best food trucks on campus, free entertainment and much more!
Fair Housing: Know Your Rights a Community Conversation. Learn about Fair Housing law, what discrimination looks like, how to file a complaint and general information about housing discrimination for renters, homeowners and homebuyers. Lunch is provided. Stop by the Multicultural Lounge on Sept. 29 at 12:30pm for food and a conversational forum lead by the Denver Metro Fair Housing Center. The event is open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.
The CMEI is kicking off Latinx Heritage this month, on September 15th! We will provide programs around the theme of “Unidos por la Cultura/United by Culture” in relations to the national theme of “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation”.
