Always working, even when on vacation, Leora Rothschild paid a visit to the impressive Atzaro Okavango Camp:
"We stopped by the new Atzaró Camp today en route to the Khwai Concession. So impressive; this property is located along the Okavango floodplains and is just gorgeous! We also enjoyed a delicious lunch after inspecting the property."

Continuing their journey through the Okavango Delta, the Rothschild family visited the classically styled Okavango Expeditions Camp, hosted by Great Plains Conservation. Here, they enjoyed the rare treat of observing a pack of wild dogs and their adorable pups:
"Our last camp was Okavango Expeditions; an exceptionally chic traditional bush camp, offering every possible luxury your heart could desire, from perfect rooms overlooking the floodplains to incredible food and cappuccinos!
"A nearby wild dog den contained a pack of 19 wild dogs with 10 pups just six weeks old. We spent our afternoon with them observing their fascinating behavior, watching the adults returning from their hunt and regurgitating the kill to feed the young ones. This afternoon was National Geographic-worthy - truly a highlight for us!
"The following morning we returned, pursuing the adults on their daily hunt."

Venturing out on their first game drive, the Rothschild family had the delight of viewing the intimate interactions of a pack of spotted hyenas, the youngsters playfully tussling with one another.
Continuing their drive with sightings of elephants and giraffes, their first day was almost complete. Returning to the exquisite Mombo Camp, they concluded their day in absolute luxury, enjoying sundowners as nature put on a breathtaking display of beauty:

With 12 hungry mouths to feed, the three matriarchs of Tswalu Kalahari Reserve 's unruly wild dog litter have been tirelessly hunting for food while somehow having to manage these frenetic youngsters. With a survival rate of barely over 50 percent, the first months of a wild dog’s life are incredibly challenging until they reach maturity at a year and a half old. Fortunately, Tswalu’s conservation program is exceptional and at 15 weeks, all pups were still accounted for.

A moment of parley between sworn enemies. Though hyena and wild dogs will rarely attack each other, they will always give a wide berth to avoid conflict. Each elephant orphan is assigned a specific carer who will tend to them for the duration of their childhood, until they are returned to the wild.
This mitigates excessive habituation and limits the chance of elephants trusting every human they meet, keeping them as wild as possible while giving them the care they desperately need to survive.
