Check out this video blog that I created for a property that makes me swoon. I adore getting off the beaten path in Costa Rica and this property embodies exactly what I like for my clients to experience in this lovely destination.

Reaching the remote Osa Peninsula required an hour Cessna flight followed by a 45 minute boat ride to reach the jungle paradise of Playa Cativo Lodge.

This luxury eco-lodge doesn't sacrifice luxe touches while being immersed in the jungle. Wake to the sounds of the waves, birds, and howler monkeys. Delight in thoughtfully prepared culinary delights and crafted cocktails.

Yesterday was incredible. We visited Taormina and then took a hydrofoil boat from Sicily to the island of Salinas.

The owner of Eolia Winery and their wine maker met us and drove us around the island by vintage post-WWII Jeep to wine taste.

Natasha and her husband Lucca opened Signum Hotel ahead of their typical opening date just for us! At night, you can watch the very active Stromboli Volcano erupt every 10-15 minutes!

Did you know that my #1 requested honeymoon destination is Italy? Greece is the 2nd most requested destination by my honeymooners.

Did you also know that this is the third consecutive year of rising travel prices? The costs for travel this year have risen at an unprecedented 11.2 percent increase over the previous year. What does this mean?

Many times, couples come to me with lofty ambitions and no idea how much to expect a glamorous multi-destination Italy trip will cost. I would like to share some insight from a travel professional.

Realistically, a week in Italy will start at $10k with 10 to 12 day trips running $12k to $15k minimum. Inclusive of accommodations in 4 star hotels, small group tours, transfers, and economy flights for two people. An estimate of $1000 to $1500 per day is a good range to expect for a quality experience.

Chef Wilian Canul treated us like royalty last night! He made a tasting menu so that we could try some gourmet bites! Delicious!

The habanero soup in a homemade bread bowl was much anticipated, and it was indeed incredible! We even got a signed copy of the secret recipe! Bravo to the chef and the team at MB for a lovely dining experience.

We ended the night at the silent disco! So fun to watch everyone dance and sing to music only they can hear.

With a flight that arrived at 7:45pm into SJO, Costa Rica we needed to stay close to the airport. Never a fan of "airport hotels", I found Xandari Resort & Spa which is located only 20 minutes from SJO. We decided to go ahead and stay for 2 nights and spend a day visiting Poas Volcano and Sarchi. You could also visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens or Doka Coffee. This property is gorgeous and the rooms are spacious, private, and very well appointed. The two sofa beds were perfect for our 2 kids. We loved hiking to the waterfalls the morning we checked out. Here is a video tour of our villa, complete with my entire family making an appearance. Lol. Art and architecture are highlights of the Xandari experience in Costa Rica. 24 spacious villas nestled on a 40-acre plantation. Each is a unique design, with tropical colors and contemporary design. About three miles of wooded trails wind through our 12-acre forest reserve, which includes a small river with several waterfalls. The largest of these natural cascades is between 60 and 70 feet tall. Our 125-foot Sunset Pool overlooks the Central Valley, but we also have two other heated lap swimming pools. All the pools are saline-treated rather than chlorinated, and two of them have solar panels to keep the water extra warm. Two of the pools have a hot tub alongside them. ULTRA PLUS VILLAS Approximately 820 sq. ft. (76.18 sq meters) with king bed and 2 sofa beds, and larger private gardens, and are located on our West Hill. Villa 26 has a separate bedroom (all other villas are open plan) and is designed for specially abled people.
