“I felt so at ease and happy to be together and talk to people!” - Rosa, mindfulness program participant
To support the overall well-being of our community members, The GrowHaus offers mindfulness workshops, including embroidery classes. These classes help our neighbors relieve stress and foster community connections. With the Surgeon General recently addressing our nation’s loneliness crisis, fostering the positive effects of social connection is more important than ever before.
In this touching video, one participant, Rosa, shares how these workshops keep her active and social, and bring her happiness.
We look forward to welcoming our neighbors back to the program next month!
Cold weather can make it hard to stay active. Luckily, The GrowHaus’ Zumba classes run all year, bringing neighbors together to move their bodies and groove to energetic music. It’s always a good time to Zumba! #zumbaworkout #physicalhealth #communityworkout

There are just THREE days until Colorado Gives Day, and our Promotoras (community health workers) can barely contain their excitement. The funds we raise ensure they have the materials to lead weekly home visits and nutrition classes, where our neighbors build community connections, celebrate traditional flavors, and discover ways to prepare unfamiliar fruits and vegetables. At a time when 15% of people in Denver are experiencing food insecurity, including one in five households with children, The GrowHaus is working to scale its food access program next year. But we can’t do this alone. Our strongest supporters know the urgnecy of our work and have agreed to provide a $30,000 matching grant when 300 people donate to The GrowHaus. It’s imperative that we unlock these funds to meet the needs of our neighbors who don’t have enough money for food.
Hear from Angelo, Associate Manager of Food Access, about how these critical funds would offset The GrowHaus’ food purchasing costs and help him source high-quality fruits and vegetables for our most vulnerable neighbors.
You can help us scale our fresh food access program by making your Colorado Gives Day gift to The GrowHaus today. Donate $50 to provide one household with 20 pounds of fresh produce and be one of the 300 people who help us a unlock the $30,000 challenge grant.
