Why does nature make us feel so good? ☀️🌲🍃🏞️ Is it the sunshine hitting our skin, fresh air, the sound of blowing leaves, or a rushing river? Or maybe all of the above. We hope you get outside during your time in Colorado this summer. Join us on a guided hike through our beautiful backyard, Rocky Mountain National Park.
A very curious marmot spotted by head guide Kyle at Forest Canyon Overlook in Rocky Mountain National Park! Did you know…. 🌿 Marmots are herbivores eating nuts, seeds, leaves, flowers, grass and grains (NOT human food!)⛰️ A marmot spends 80% of its life below ground, and they can live between 13-15 years! ☀️ When they are above ground, they enjoy sunning themselves on rocks to get warm. 🐿️ They are the largest member of the squirrel family - they can grow up to 2 feet long and weigh up to 11 pounds! You’ll find larger marmots the higher the elevation due to their adaptation to stay warm.Did any of these marmot facts surprise you? What’s your favorite thing about marmots? ⬇️ Comment below!
What’s your favorite baby animal that we’ve spotted this spring? Bighorn sheep, bison, elk, or moose? We’re proud of our guides’ ability to find wildlife on tours. All of these sightings were either in Rocky Mountain National Park or in route to the park!
In case you forgot, the Denver Nuggets are in the NBA Finals for the first time in history! They will play their first game against the Miami Heat tonight in Denver at Ball Arena. Folks from out of town are arriving here at Union station today. You can feel the excitement in the air. Businesses around our city are prepping for some exciting watch parties for those who aren’t at Ball Arena. Where are you watching the game to support our team?!
We’re stoked to be hosting more guide workshops where our Aspire Guides can come together and share their knowledge! This month: GEOLOGY WITH GENTRY! 🪨 Gentry is one of our awesome guides who really thinks rocks…rock! She received her Masters in Geology and prepared to teach the other guides some of the basics in geology, glaciology, and paleontology! 🦕🦖 She even brought several different types of rocks so we could talk about how to identify them. Now, these Aspire Guides can share all this info with our lucky guests on tour! What topic should we cover next month? We have a lot of knowledgeable guides to choose from…🤔
“Now these mountains are our Holy Land, and we ought to saunter through them reverently, not ‘hike’ through them.” - John Muir On Sunday we hosted a large corporate outing with the wonderful @onetreeplanted out in Staunton State Park! We split into two hikes and had a blast hiking this beautiful state park after a fresh snow. We loved working with this amazing nonprofit that aids global reforestation. We thank them for being such a lively group and hope to cross path again with them in the future! 🌱🌎☀️❄️🌲🏔️
The photos are edited and ready to be shown off to the world, but how did we get here? We worked with only the best, Christian Hundley, on getting some classic and not so classic shots of how we want to showcase our new “Seeing Denver” Tour. It was a beautiful day, and we could not be more excited to begin offering this unique, 3 hour tour to our guests starting April 25! 🥳 Link is in our bio for more info and booking availability! See you soon!
