Hey there, it’s National Plan for a Vacation Day! I’m so happy to be with you for it! The very first time I used a travel advisor (which just happened to be Denville Travel), I was so confused. Our travel advisor was putting so much work in to our vacation and I didn’t have to pay for it? Huh? How can that not be a scam? The answer is simple, but not necessarily readily obvious, so here it is: there is travel advisor commission built into the cost of every single vacation you take, whether you use one or not. Book on your own? The location keeps the commission for themselves. Book through Costco? Who knows what happens to that commission, but you definitely won’t get any assistance. When I plan your vacation, I treat it like my own. I do my research, I use my expertise, I stay on top of deadlines and new information, and I do everything within my power to make sure that your vacation experience is the best that it can be. Sometimes people will ask “Well, if I book with you, do you have access to special deals?” The answer is most likely, “no.” Once in a while I may, and sometimes there is a small amenity for booking through a travel advisor. But what you really get is someone to carry the mental load for you. And really, isn’t that what we all need right now the most? Where do you want to go?

In 2015, we were supposed to leave for Disney World on January 27th, the day after Abby’s fifth birthday. But Mother Nature planned for a huge snow storm that was supposed to dump a foot of snow on NJ, which we anticipated would cancel our flight (it did, but we were ahead of the game). We packed up a rental car in the dark, wee hours of the morning on the 26th and made it onto the highway just as the flakes of snow started to fall. 20+ hours (with a newly 5 year old, 3 year old and 1.5 year old in the car) later, we pulled into the Wilderness Lodge as one of the many NY/NJ area Disney snow refugees who had to change plans at the last minute. And the next morning, she got to have her birthday cake in the most magical place in the world. We aren’t in Disney today, but this kid has made out pretty good throughout the years with birthdays in Disney. Happy 15th Birthday Abby, love you princess 👑

I’m seeing a theme with what my clients are booking this year and it is definitely CRUISES.

Cruises are worry free, truly relaxing ways to travel. With all of your food, entertainment and literal movement right in front of you, they give you the ability to maximize both your time and your money. What can I say except to shout my everlasting thanks? Last month I shared that I had a milestone coming up as a travel advisor of hitting the mark of $1 Million in total sales, and what I thought was going to take me a few months was completed in just 23 days! My journey as a travel advisor has been so much fun. I started planning vacations in late 2018, and thought I had a pretty good year in 2019 planning Disney vacations for five families. It was a hobby, and it was a good time. But we all know 2020 was a wash and 2021 was the slow climb up out of the pit of travel despair. Since then, I have continued to grow my skills and knowledge and from 2021 until now, I have planned several hundred Disney vacations (and loved every second of it)! But even more exciting to me is that I have been able to grow and develop beyond a hobby into a business, and provide services way beyond Disney to include Universal destinations, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC and Carnival Cruises, All-Inclusive vacations like Sandals and Beaches and other island resorts, European Tours and River Cruises. It’s been so much more enriching and exciting than I could have predicted back in 2018. Thank you to my Disney-loving base for all of your support throughout the years. It’s truly the Disney magic that has me wanting to do this for years to come. And thank you to all of my new friends, followers and supporters—no matter where you want to go, I promise that magic is my goal.

Not gonna lie, I’m kind of jealous of my clients who just booked the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas for Spring Break.
