Book your dates ASAP in Lincoln City or Depoe Bay....we are almost booked into 2022 these sunsets are amazing and Migrating whales visit Oregon's shores from mid-December through mid-January and from late March through the end of May. Resident gray whales are most commonly seen from June through mid-November. The Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay, Ore., sees up to 15 whales per day during peak seasons.

New Condominium Alert… This one is booking up quickly although we do have some openings in January and February 2022. Still, those are going quickly too. Reserve your dates before they are gone.
Although those are great months because the whales are migrating to the warmer waters of the Baja Peninsula. Around 25,000 grey whales passing through.

Wanted Experienced Immediately Housekeeper-
Looking for lead/main housekeeper to clean 9 luxury/upscale vacation rentals at the Village at North Pointe in Depoe Bay. Properties have well established rental history year round and high level of cleaning and attention to detail is required. Candidate should be energetic, mature, dependable, hardworking (with desire to work), organized, have a positive attitude and be customer service minded. Candidate must have cell phone, transportation, and be able to communicate with management company office on a daily basis. Some cleaning experience and ability to email and use smart phone applications. References and background check required.

Summary of Duties:
Clean properties at a high level with attention to detail
Clean effectively and efficiently, do all laundry, and check inventories after guest departures
Schedule cleans efficiently and provide daily email feedback on condition of property to office (condition report)
Inspect all properties before guest arrival
Attend to guest problems related to cleaning
Maintain inventory of supplies

Change lockbox codes monthly

Other duties related to maintaining condos.
Hire additional workers when necessary

Compensation: competitive per clean flat rate; depends on experience
Start Date: August 1st
Independent Contractor, Part-time Position, must be available 7 days a week

Service Fees and How They Affect You

2020 update - AirBnB now charging guests a 20% service fee. Up 5% since 2019!

The vacation rental industry has been growing in popularity over the past couple years and it was only a matter of time before 'the big boys' decided to pad their revenue with unnecessary service fees.

Popular websites including Airbnb, HomeAway, VRBO, VacationRentals, FlipKey/TripAdvisor many others charge vacationers as much as 20% of the rental rate as a fee for using their website to book a vacation home.

This fee is not charged by the property owner or management company, but is simply another 'tax' added to the total reservation cost by these advertisers.

How do you avoid the service fee? Simply book directly with the property manager or owner whom often have their own websites offering this service.



Also, remember sites like Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com and the many other sites owned by Expedia and Booking.com also have hidden fees though they claim not to charge. Often times these fees are included in the nightly rate. Use those sites to find a vacation home or hotel, but always try to find the manager or hotel website for the best deal on the nightly rate.

So far, this September has been an ideal time to be in Lincoln City or Depoe Bay, Oregon! The sun is out, the whales have been easy to spot and the sand warm on the toes! Each evening we have had a beautiful sunset and many guests are building campfires on the beach as they enjoy the evening stars.
