Might be a little stormy this weekend, but still warm.
Summer comes back all week and next weekend it’s going to be perfect ☀️
Are you a coast storm watcher or do you prefer the sunshine?
I love both.

“People without the knowledge of the past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots”

The Depoe family came to Depoe Bay after the Dawes Act of 1887 allotted land to Siletz Indian Charles "Charley" Depoe, born Ki-sa Charlie Depoe. Depoe, a former chief of the Rogue River Tribe, and his wife Matilda “Minnie” received 200 acres around Whale Cove and along the coast in 1887.
Ki-sa and Minnie owned the allotment between Whale Cove and Collins st. Ki-sa cleared the timber out and built a cattle pen for the local cattle company to lease use of while Minnie kept house and raised their children.

The family became known as "DePoe" after his son, Robert, attended the Carlisle Indian School. In the 1920s, investors purchased the land from the Depoe family to develop a tourist town, which became Depoe Bay. The Depoe Bay Bridge was constructed in 1928, followed by hotels, cottages, and the first saltwater aquarium in Oregon.

The first lady wants to know when her friend is going to take her to see whales.
The second lady does not want to see whales because of personal reasons 😂
