“Happy New Year to all my dear Whale Watching friends! I had an amazing day with the manatees today! I absolutely love them! I have been working with manatees here in Florida for the last month at Crystal River Watersports. I will be here working with the manatees until the end of January. I have had the manatees come right up to my mask, nibble on my cheek, and hold my arm and leg. They are truly gentle giants! The other big gray mammal I love is, of course, the gray whale. I hope to be starting up whale watching mid to late March, depending on the whales and ocean conditions. I just love sharing these two incredible mammals with as many people as possible.

During World War II the Spouting Horn
(seen in right side of photo) was a restaurant downstairs and the upstairs was housing for the U.S. Coast Guard protecting our coastline.
